Hi from Kent
I bought my first SLR in the mid 1970's, one of the the main choice decisions of the day was either Aperture Priority or Speed Priority (it was either or). Considering Aperture Priority to be the most important for my photography, I bought the ME Super. It was new on the market and it was not long b...

Crazy?
G'Day and welcome Sherryl. A good way to learn is by posting your images (or those you'd like comment on) to a site such as Photobucket, then linking them to the 'Your Photos' thread here, and seeing what suggestions come back.

Sherryl Welcome - you ain't the oldest newcomer to the world of photography - I beat you by quite a few years :) The folk here are great - I've had a lot of help and still need it so post your pics and questions and sit back and watch the advice and help come rolling in :)

Hello!
Hi lads and lassies. I don't have Pentax yet. Now I have Fuji s9600, but I think it's about time to move to DSLR. I've checked Canons and Nikons and I came to conclusion that for inexpensive entry level camera, k100d would be the best. When I'll buy it, I'll be back with lots of question probably. ;...

Greetings from the Isle of Wight
Greetings from the Isle of Wight! I bought my first Pentax SLR in the 1970s and used Pentax exclusively for more than 25 years. I still have my old KX and two battered MXs, and they still work fine! I bought a new *istD a few years back, thinking I would still use all my fabulous Pentax lenses, but...

Greetings from the Isle of Wight
Hi and welcome to the forum. Being a bit shaky myself these days, I rely on the camera internal IS (K200D, K20D). Works like a charm. Glad to see you back to Pentax. Cheers, Stephen

New to the forum...
Which lens(es) do you have already and what sort of a budget are you thinking of? Also, how important are things like AF, etc? Your camera can use pretty much any Pentax lens dating back to 1957 with varying degrees of automation - if you add in all the third party lenses that's a lot of options!...

New to the forum...
I'd like something from about 16mm (with no vignetting) up to 40mm, maybe 50mm. Also, i'm after a 50mm 1.4 Budget, anything up to £300 if I can get anything for that Well there are no zooms that go down to 16mm other than those designed for APS-C sensors (so they will vignette at the wider end...

Hi to all Pentax users
Tim, what can you tell me about your Sigma 70-200/2.8? Sorry, only just saw this. The Sigma is very big and quite heavy, but has great IQ. Focus is fast, and locks on quickly. I've only had it a few weeks so haven't had much chance to use it yet, was one of my first shots with it. While calibra...

Hi to all Pentax users
I use one of , but there are other versions around the net. I don't actually fold mine to stand up, I just put it on the floor and use a tripod to angle the lens at 45 degrees. is a different version of the chart, same idea though. Print it out, position it at 45 degree angle, focus on the...
