I had forgotten that PRA requires you to have the original disk handy before you can install it, I'm afraid I will have to put this off till tomorrow.

If a search for "Tethered" doesn't work, try "fit to be tied". No, wait, that's my other favourite site......

64 bit. Graham Thanks for offering to try to replicate the problem.

Rae

Welcome!

I doubt it working under 64bit and very little seems to work properly under Win 7. You can download some 500MB XP compatibility software or do like I've done.... leave the New Windows 7 m/c to gather dust and use the old XP Pro one.

I use Logitech Marble mice exclusively and they don't work properly with Win 7 ..... looking at photos is a pain the page down and page up buttons on the mouse don't work?

I hope London Transport don't use Win 7 they use Logitech Marble mice to control the driverless trains

Well I have carried out some tests this morning and I'm afraid it's not good news. I tested the Pentax Remote Assistant 3.5.1 on a Windows 7 64 bit & 32 bit versions, the 32 bit version worked sporadically under administrator mode detecting the camera two out of ten attempts, the 64bit version just refuses to acknowledge the existence of the camera at all. However I have not tested the software using the XP Virtual Machine mode mentioned above, I suspect that the picture quality will be so poor it is not worth bothering with.

Looks like a 50 Eye-Fi Card is the best solution. It gives you a lot more freedom anyway by not having a wire attached, although strictly speaking your no longer Tethered

Graham

Thanks for your efforts. It is much appreciated. I do have an older XP Laptop, I'll clear some space, and install PRA, and Browser, and try again, and let you know how I get on.

I have used it on XP with my K10 quite a lot, although that function is not available for my K7, a backwards step in my view.

Let me know how you get on.

From my browsing around it looks like PRA is for K10D ONLY!!! I am still trying to find the file to download myself.

Hope this helps.

The PRA can be used with both the K10D & K20, and this is the page you are looking for link

Enjoy
