Hello from the North East of England
After what seems like months I have eventually spent my cash on a pentax dslr system. I am a basic point and shoot in auto mode type of guy at present with a Canon G1. I wanted something I could develop with and learn as I go on.I was pretty much sold on benefits of in body stabilisation and wanted...

Hi from the Wirral.
Thanks all for your replies. I live in Bromborough at the moment. Back in the family home after moving to Middlesbrough for 5 years (oh what we do for love). @bforbes - I don't think they do. Well, not as often anyway. The police have a greater presence at the moment in those areas (my opinion on...

Using Pentax ME Lens
All Pentax digital SLR's (and their Samsung clones) can use Pentax lenses from the 1950's onwards, so that certainly covers any you may have used with your ME. You will notice that the field of view changes as the digital sensor is smaller than a 35mm film frame (so a 50mm lens on digital will lo...

Using Pentax ME Lens
Assuming that the lens on the ME is a K mount (rather than an M42 screw fit - if it just clips straight onto the ME without any sort of adapter then it's a K mount) then it'll fit any Pentax DSLR. You just need to change a setting in the menus to allow the use of the aperture control ring, set the c...

Pentax- Takumar lenses
If those are Takumar Bayonet lenses then they'll fit on any current Pentax DSLR just as they do on your ME Super. You might not want to use the 80-200mm as manual zooms can be a bit of a pain. When you switch on with a manual lens the camera will ask for the focal length of the lens, in order to...

Newbie - Central WA , USA
Hiya Larry, welcome to the club :D What old Pentax you been using then :?: I had the older film-versions of the Pentax SLRs which have long since disappeared. I kept one of the manual primes that is a few decades-old, but I do not use it as much, since my eyes are getting too old to focus. I cur...

Hello from the Wirral
Thanks for the advice on the battery issue Bob. :D In fact I put the new Enloop ones in first (on Saturday when I bought the camera) and they died early in the show (on Sunday):( so I put the Lithium ones in that came with it and they died too. It was not cold as it was an indoor show - I...

Hello. I figure I ought to introduce myself.... I'm originally from the UK but haven't lived there for nigh on 16 years. I live and work in Finland with my family; my trusty K10D is hopefully being replaced shortly by a K7. I'm findable on various forums on the 'net, mainly to do with aud...

newbie with some kit
Hi there! A fairly inexperienced pentax user here having bought a K200d as my first DSLR and an optio for the back pocket at parties... However, I do have my grandfather's camera bag and in it I found an SP500, grip, flash, 3 lenses (more below) and a teleconverter. Alongside all this was the ...

I am returning to the fold (if that isn't mixing my metaphors too much ). Things seem to have calmed down again here. I have missed you all, though I have lurked a bit. I hope I can come back?
