As I said, it just could have been my experience but after the firmware update neither my Pentax or Kenko 1.4x would lock focus correctly with HSM lens (24-70mm 2.8 OS HSM, 70-200mm 2.8 OS HSM and 50-500mm OS HSM)

Looks like the focus was off with the first image, the lamp post behind the bridge is pretty sharply in focus.

Apologies but not now interested in this lens because, it seems, it is not Internal Focus (IF) and does extend a long way - and thus, if my past experience with the 150-500 is anything to go by, will probably focus more slowly than I would want.

Great lenses, superb value. This is a straightforward fix usually. Remove the five screws using the appropriate JIS driver (a bit of acetone on the screws will loosen the threadlocker). When the mount comes off you'll see the problem immediately, as grease finds its way onto the aperture lever...

HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6 ED DC AW For sale
Lens back up for sale. Was sold but apparently incompatible with the buyers camera body. I, of course, refunded. This lens has been professionally checked by Skears photographic in Northampton and was found to be perfecty sharp.

Sold one of these a couple of years back - regretted it immediately :oops: spent months tracking another down, cost more than I sold my copy for :| and have been very happy with it :P IMO it produces nicer results than the Pentax 50/1.2 lenses, but it's not quite up to the level of the DFA*50/1....
