Pentax SV
Lovely. It's essentially a Spotmatic without a meter. As the meter doesn't work on my Spottie, I shall henceforth think of it as an SV. Did you get the lens serviced too? I have a couple of 55s, but there is a slight trace of roughness in the focus movement. A tiny bit of grit no doubt. ...

Pentax SV
I've ended up with two of those tripods. There was another in the job lot of stuff I bought a little while back. :D K.

Pentax SV
Did you get the lens serviced too? I have a couple of 55s, but there is a slight trace of roughness in the focus movement. A tiny bit of grit no doubt. G No, it is just one I had hanging around. I use Alan Marlowe for lens repairs/service. He did a very nice job of removing a touch of fungus ...

Pentax film camera (growing) collection
For a number of different reasons my Pentax film camera collection has been growing, but I have been very lazy and not used the cameras almost at all. My new year's proposition is that I will start using them on a regular basis and all of them will be used this year! By posting them (and my prop...

Pentax Zoom 90 compact
Another 'Gift'Pentax from a Camera Club member is the Zoom 90 compact. It takes the 123A batteries like the 6x7Mk II and has a 38-90mm focal length zoom lens -- there is NO 'aperture' marked on it and there is NO indication what is the shutter speed being used ! There is the 'DX Coding' for film sen...

6x7 Mk II pics
Here is my 6x7 Mk II -- I got it secondhand in a deal including the 135mm f4 SMC Macro-Takumar, several huge filters and a Billingham bag all for £500-00 ( Don't tell the Wife ! ) I sold the Billingham bag at my Camera Club auction later for £35-00 so got some money back ! The camera was Mint' but ...

Asahi Pentax S
This and the 'K'were two Asahi Pentax Cameras brought back from Singapore by one of the partners of Breda Studios, Barking, Essex when I worked with them in the 1960's and it got me into 'PENTAX' photography -- had a Zeiss Contax III with un-coated 50mm f1.5 Sonnar I had bought in Germnay from a Ca...

So here is why I can no longer afford the 31mm/43mm/77mm
SO what did you buy Mrs Mike this time? A new iron??:lol: Congratulations! Enjoy it. Maybe you should train the dog to carry it on his back, or pull it on a little wagon for you

A Pentax Christmas
I could not afford a black MX either John, it was all I could do to scrape 1/2 the cost of the silver MX from my milk round and selling my bike. My mum and dad had said they would match the rest as a Christmas present, I think the MX cost £160 back then! I did wonder wether to get a silver MX-1 t...

A Pentax Christmas
Seeing that beautiful old MX is nearly enough to tempt me back to 35mm :D ... probably not, but it does make me regret that I didn't use Pentax in earlier days  Its the build and feel of the old stuff that is so special - my 2 1980's lenses (an 'A' prime & an 'M' zoom) are always such a plea...

The perfect case for a Q
Looks like the case SRS were giving away free with the MX-1 a while back. Fits perfectly.

My New New Old K-01 :-)
The silver one does look good and is my favourite K-01 colour (I may be a bit biased because mine is this colour too). Great choice of lenses to go with it, for me the biggest advantages of the K-01 are its superb low light performance and the focus peaking which makes using old lenses a breeze. ...

Just serviced
Last January when I was last in the US I sent four cameras, two motordrives and a dial data back to Eric Hendrickson for some TLC. They arrived back at a friend's in Ohio in February and have been waiting for my next trip to the US to collect them. I was finally reunited with them last week. Here...

Just serviced
Hi Andrew. The 'silver' MX I've had a while but it developed a fault which was luckily just needing some lubrication. The black MX I got as part of a large job lot a while back but I had never used it because it was in need of a service. The bumper foam was hanging off and the light seals were ju...

Just serviced
Hi Bob, for various reasons I go to the states a few times a year. I saved on the postage by taking these with me at New Year and posting them to him then, and collecting them from a friend in Ohio on my next trip. A single camera seems to be not too bad -- he revamped my ESII nicely and post...

Some newer images
Back in the day I'd have given an eye for a super or programA. I doubt if these old eyes would get me half a K3 now. Lovely craftsmanship not like the made in China junk we have to put up with nowadays. I wonder how many modern cameras will still be functioning in 30 years time.
