Goose Wars

Thank you all for taking the time to comment, very much appreciated. Lovely series and it is only when viewing them 'large' that one realizes the quality of the kit used. To back up David's comment I have attached an uncropped version of one of the images - the K3iii and 150-450mm really are quit...

Aurora Borealis

Well, not the real one. There was an art installation at the Albert Dock in Liverpool for the past week and I managed to get over last night. Had to be hand-held, too many people around to set my tripod up. Along with shots with ground features as back drop, I also pointed the camera straight at t...

The Black & White City

We visit the beautiful city of Chester a couple of times a year (highly recommended for food and drink and a little retail therapy) and rather than lug a DSLR and several lenses around I take the Ricoh GRIII. The problem is that it is such a picturesque little city that quite often the photos are pr...

Exactly what I thought on skimming through them - straight back to the headstones. Super shot.

Northern Lights 16th April 2025

Those are some stunning images :liked: I wonder what our ancestors hundreds of years ago made of this phenomenom :surprised: Thank you! Your question is very interesting. The northern lights have been a very important part of Sami belief and culture for centuries. I found an article about this to...

One from today

A good day out today. Oysters in the Magpie and a pint of Guinness in the Golden Lion. On another note, straight from the file, no corrections, no sharpening, just cropped. .......... and going back tomorrow. Best regards

A cluster of random images

Nice random collection - I do find myself drawn to number 3, a real photographers back garden (no time for mowing :-) ) Variety is the spice of life - I think you might be a curry fan with your range of subjects ;) Nice selection, keep experimenting :liked: Definitely!

Stars, Trails and Fire Sky

The first one is superb and you'll be able to look back on that 3rd shot in the future and say "remember that day when the moors were on fire!" - sadly it probably won't be the last shot of its kind though  - but apart from that it's an excellent image :liked:

Out with my Dodgy MX and M42 lenses --

Yes, it is amazing - but a lot of this is due to Peter's lifelong experience and skill. I could send any number of potentially good images to a commercial processor and they will come back 'meh'. All kudos to you Peter - wonderful results, as always.

A couple from last night's sunset.

Another vote for those railings! I think that what the sets of photos from your wanderings is showing is the value of getting to know an area really, really well and going back to the same places in different lights, different weather, different times of day, different seasons, different lenses.....
