Sunsets from the Orme
This is not meant to be nasty, but let's be honest. All three photos are poor, the subject is in the centre (never heard of the rule of thirds?) as a result I find them boring. Having said that, I am probably just as guilty with some of my efforts. Never heard of the rule that rules are ma...

Leaves and Light
Hmmm, is it allowed to like both?? The darker one appeals because of the intensity of the colour. It also has a 'cooler' feel, i.e. shaded from the direct sun, which I like. The lighter one appeals because I can see more of the physical structure of the leaves, albeit the leaf on the right han...

Back To Film, Temporarily
A few shots taken in the last few weeks on my MZ-7 with a smc Pentax-FA 28-200 1:3.8-5.6 IF AL attached using Kodak Gold 400, scanned on an Epson V600 Photo flat bed scanner and edited in Affinity. FILEY BRIGG WHITBY FOLK WEEK

Very nice selection, with that genuine "film" look

Back To Film, Temporarily
A very nice set! Number two is my immediate favourite image.

A walk in the woods
No point in asking permission to take liberties because I already have! (Ask forgiveness afterwards - it's easier). I was taken to task by a member some years ago, who said, "For heaven's sake will you please sharpen your images!" I did, and there began my own post-processing journey. This is a simi...

A walk in the woods
Grey overcast sky, so no lovely autumn colours, but hey....I remember someone saying that is ideal for close ups. Can't argue with that, seeing as how I was doing the same earlier today  . And you can see from your shots that it's right. Nothing to do with being close-up or not, of course. It'...

A walk in the woods
No point in asking permission to take liberties because I already have! (Ask forgiveness afterwards - it's easier). Father Ted: please forgive me for making a tutorial out of your lovely images. As I said, someone else did it with mine and it transformed how I worked so I hope the same will happ...

A walk in the woods
I appreciate the effort that has gone into these. Starting the series with the signpost is lovely. I like that. Despite my K5 not having an articulated screen, I don't mind getting down and low, but I may have difficulty in getting back up! The mini tripod suggestion by Chris is a very good idea...

Pitcher Pictures
A pitcher plant has recently survived a year in my care, living on nothing more than rainwater and neglect. In fact, and quite unexpectedly, it seems to be thriving. So the time was right to take some photographs before it starts to pack up for the winter. These are all focus stacks, taken outdoors ...

More Aerial Shots
Out of interest what's the town/harbour in the second picture? Apologies. My beginning should read Cornwall NOT Devon St. Ives, :liked: FYI, In the 1st picture you can make out St. Michael's Mount and the south coast. It's about 10 miles from each, my wife ans I once walked it and got the bus...

Trioplan toadstools
These are superb.  In this context, I'm not sure that 'bubble bokeh' is an appropriate term. The bubbles are a creative element in the total picture which you've used to great effect, rather than just an artefact of an out of focus area. Steve

Ricoh GR Portrait work
Another striking set of portraits from you Alistair, and good to see you back here. I do like the artwork on no 7. - great idea to bring this into the frame.

The Clear skies...Nope!
Oh, I used a website that informed me the moonrise wasn't until 20:21 ( sunset 18:10'ish) but due to the cloud and rain I didn't venture out in the car to a remote spot, just the garden. I knew light pollution was a problem from experience before in the back garden, but I thought I would try again....

Foggy Shots
Thanks Don for the comment, I had only a short time to snap away as I pulled up in the car, freezing, engine running, SWMBO waiting..... All after driving 23 Miles only to turn back!
