Joy at Whitby

All comments appreciated. This is young lady studying at Manchester Uni. I'm traveling at the moment so can't get a decent set up until I get back to K10D central. Best regards

First image in a while

It's great to hear that you're out and about again. Take it easy and hopefully it will all flow back naturally. You have a great photo talent so it will be good to see your images again.

First image in a while

I think you'll always be connected to photography Gareth, and passing on your knowledge will only build your connections - this image is so nicely done, a relatively ordinary scene transformed into something special by adjusting the composition and applying some great processing skills. Whatever ...

I bought an *istD in New York. My first digital SLR. A must buy after reading Herbert Keppler's review in Popular Photography. The camera has been hammered in use. It covered everything from F1 in Bahrain, The Bahrain Open (golf), the MCC's visit to Awali to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Awal...

Some more 'scrap watch case' pics with that 1930s Radionar

Great detail David and good colour rendering. You have got me wanting to put my 105 Radionar back on the K3iii. At the moment I have put the lens back on the restored Franka Rolfix body and I have run a 120 film through it.

To Q or not to Q

Back in Oct 2021 I used a Pentax Q as a second camera at Whitby. This is shot with the Q of a much larger camera. Best regards

Pushing a Trioplan - more out of focus shots

We have one of those junctions nearby that looks like someone has thrown a bag of traffic light seeds everywhere. It's very busy and there are always rows and rows of red brake lights to be seen. It looked like a good place to see what might happen if you maximised the soap bubble effect of a Triopl...

Pushing a Trioplan - more out of focus shots

An interesting experiment. I rather like the results . And it's making me wonder what a mirror lens would do with the same sort of scene. Just got to find a suitable junction - not easy in my part of the world and only having a 500mm mirror.... Steve

Pushing a Trioplan - more out of focus shots

Interesting! I have to say that they don't do my eyes any favours, which is why the second one is the only one I can look at for any length of time!

Earth, Sea, Sky and Light

Thanks folks. I spent many of my early photo trips on Portland (grew up in Weymouth) And I lived in Weymouth for 10 years, which is when I discovered the delights of Portland. We liked living there but a growing family meant the need for a bigger house and couldn't be too fussy about where. Portlan...

Kedleston Hall

A few photos from today's walk around the parkland at Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire. All images Pentax K1 and Pentax-FA* 24mm F2 AL. This is a lens which has not seen a lot of use recently so I decided to give it an outing. Back to my LR catalog to see which is next to be dusted off!

Astro: Dipping my toes back in.

Haven't had my telescope out for ages and haven't hung a camera on it for even longer (possibly 10 years!). However, I thought I'd have an experiment last night as the sky was clear. I have an old K10d which has a faulty aperture mechanis, so I thought this would be ideal to hang on the scope as I ...

A very worthwhile experiment - and I bet you enjoyed yourself, too! Jupiter and Saturn? You and Spad should get together one night. Steve

Astro: Dipping my toes back in.

Glad to see you getting back into it - I've never got anything like those planet shots when I was dabbling a few years ago, as Steve says - a very worthwhile experiment - keep em coming
