Eye correction
Just a thought - when I am using these old cameras with their -1 doptre eyepieces I use my computer screen glasses (aka reading glasses) which are perfect to focus with. The viewfinder image is around 1 metre distant optically, so if you can focus on that distance then you will have no problems.

SF7 Flash Sync Speed
I have just bought a SF7 body off eBay to replace my dead Chinon CE-4, and am very happy with the way it can use all my manual focus lenses. I also have an auto flash unit (not Pentax dedicated) which I guess I should be able to use OK. When used on the Chinon I had to set the speed to 1/60. The SF7...

MZ30 + TOKINA 500MM MIRROR LENS
Hi Hoofer, and welcome to the forum. If it's a fully manual lens, which I'm fairly certain it is, then it won't have any electrical contacts to tell the camera what aperture it is. As it's a fixed aperture, there is also no finger to tell the camera either. This means that it will work out how ...

Snowfun: School's closed !

I rush processed the film (konica VX 400 ) in C41 as usual, scanned the negs for sending to the local paper and found the snow came out with a very strong yellow cast ! I messed about in PhotoShop 7 with levels...

MX motor drive
I tried to get one of these a while back, but after scanning e-bay and local camera shops for sometime, gave up. By then, I had the *ist which is reasonably fast. If you do find them advertised, the seller doesn't always know the difference between the two, and will sometimes advertise the winder...

New boy, old camera
It will certainly do that, modern AF cameras are so sophisticated and reliable under all but the most extreme conditions, that when set to auto they are essentially 'point and shoot'. A manual focus camera with fairly basic metering will force you to slow down and think about each and every shot....

New boy, old camera
The ME super for me is the pinicle of manual focus camera design. Well alright the LX is really, but I don't have one of those and will probably never be able to justify buying one. The ME Super has exactly the right amount of automation to make it fast, while retaining ease of access to manual f...

MZ5n shutter wont fire
I think my MZ5n has finally bit the dust  , I was going to put a film through it but despite a fresh set of batteries when I press the shutter all I get is a whining noise, trying the DoF preview gets the same noise, sounds like its something to do with stopping the lens down prior to shutter r...

MZ-M TTL
For setting exposure - the camera meters through through the lens with the mirror down. The light sensors surround the pentaprism/pentamirror. To quench the flash when sufficient output has been generated - TTL Flash metering is done with the mirror up. The sensor is inside the mirror box and mea...

Kodachrome 64 on CD after processing ?
Hello, Does anyone out there use Kodachrome 64 ? I used to use it years ago and after recently going through some old slides was reminded just what great a film it was (perhaps still is ?) Anyway I'm thinking about buying some rolls and I was wondering is it possible to get the images back digita...

Forgive me Father, for I have sinned...
Your shots are out-of-focus and have a blue tinge. Did you take them with your Cannon :?: :P

Your shots are out-of-focus and have a blue tinge. Did you take them with your Cannon :?: :P No, crappy phone camera. And anyway, be careful - I just about got away with mentioning N***n on this forum, I think mentioning C***n might be pushing it a bit

Forgive me Father, for I have sinned...
Come back in a year and tell us how many pictures you took with it. G I must admit I haven't exactly been over-using the LX recently, but now the summer is apon us - the season of holidays, days out, air shows and car meets. Hopefully both cameras will get to see some action.

How do I use bellows?
All a bellows does is place the lens further from the sensor plane, which means you can focus closer. Because of this, the lens doesn't have to be able to focus, which is why a bellows lens lacks a focus ring. Usually you would mount the lens the same way as normal, and a longer focal length wil...

How do I use bellows?
Another thing to consider is the resolving power of the lens. The more extension you put behind the lens, the more you make the lens work. The quality of a standard 50mm lens will start to degrade at about 1:1 which is why it is often recommended that you reverse the lens above certain magnification...

B+W processing
I have started using DSCL in Manchester after a couple of bad results with Jessops and high-street shops: http://www.dscolourlabs.co.uk/ I have had about 20 rolls developed there and until now the quality has been great and I usually have my negatives back within two days.

B+W processing
My last batch I sent to and I was very happy with the results even though it took more than a week to get the negatives back.
