SRS new prices
Just wondered where did this info come from and when is it supposed to take effect Looking back in the thread I think it came from SRS, looking at their site the 50-135mm is £919 already, so whenever they have to re-stock the other models the price will rise.

SRS new prices
I think they have made a massive mistake, probably to tie in with the release of the new K7 trying to make it look more desirable, against the canikons , However its going to alienate a lot of fellow pentax users I'm sure a lot of the new users considering the K-7 will be very grateful that the pric...

Kodak kills Kodachrome film
Haven't used Kodachrome in years, but did like some of their other films. I too am an Ilford man. When others had a camera for colour and one for mono, I had one for FP4/PanF and one for HP5! But it does make you think, there was a time that what you put in the back of the camera had as much of...

New website layout
Nathan, I like it very much, clean, tidy and intuitive; everything loads very quickly. I'd like to see a link that takes you back from a picture to the thumbnail gallery but it isn't essential. Ken

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
What an end to a great day. What started by being a nice planned walk along the Woods in the Lido in Riuslip just turned absolutely sour with the grilling I just had by two cops. I had decided to walk in the lido today instead of my usual run with the Hillingdon running club people as I am healin...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
"Nil illigitimus carborundum" Almin. Its a latin barstardisation meaning "don't let the bastards grind you down". You were in a public place and acquitted yourself perfectly. Don't let this experience stop you from pursuing your hobby. If you do, they've won. Thanks for that Peter. I won't let t...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
Sounds to me like you behaved well, the police in fact behaved well and were just ensuring that the complainant's concerns could be put to rest. The only chump was the complainant. So, given the way you responded I'd say you can pat yourself on the back and carry on enjoying taking the photograph...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
if you do then they win and we don't want that do we? True Hefty, we definitely do not want to let them get one over us. Sad situation but I will ride this off. Strange you even mention that my friends at the running club would be sympathetic. When I came back obviously I was eager to tell t...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
The more I think about this the more I am convinced that it was the lady I saw who called the cops. And I am bound to run into her again, and guess where it will be? In the woods haa. Obviously she walks her dogs there, so she must frequent those woods often. I rarely go there to photograph although...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
The ridiculous thing is that you have every legal right to take pictures of children playing. What has the world come to? Can you imagine the archaelogists of the future, looking back at all the photographs they find and struggling to understand why there were no children born after the 1990s? ...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
Amin she will never admit to it, when I started my wedding photography back in 1975 I was reported to the Taxman by a local photography shop, but unknown to her I had already registered with the local tax office and when I went into the shop to confront her she would not speak to me, so there you go...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
Well, if only it was that easy to actually get the police out sometimes! Had a 'situation' on Thursday night right outside my our house. Guy goes to do a 3 point turn to go the wrong way down a one way street, I stood in the road pointing at the 2 foot high letters in the middle of the road sayin...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
Amazing! This thread started out as an anti-police rant. Following several other reasonable replies (while I was typing one of my own), it turns out that there's much more to the story than originally revealed. Finally, the OP says he's "not annoyed at the cops at all." So what was the point of all ...

Encounter with the cops and a grilling by them
Ray I take back what I said above, I apologise if I caused any offense. Thanks, Paul - accepted unreservedly. The police do not have te right to go anywhere - they cannot enter place such as your house just on te chance that a crime may be being commited and similarly they cannot enter the park. ...
