Camera Club Or Not
"Cliquey" is not limited to Camera Clubs, it's endemic amongst any number of clubs with a mostly static membership, particularly in those of middle-age and above. The turning club I joined was a particularly bad example, so I left. The club is the membership, so if that's fresh, helpful and innov...

Chase Jarvis test drives the camera Pentax should've built.
I shoot weddings. there are moments in a wedding day that beg to be frozen, and preserved in a photo. an intimate glance, a kiss... something easily lost in the confusion of video. video won't capture that feeling. no clutter, no distractions no noise....a photo. but there are also things that ne...

Chase Jarvis test drives the camera Pentax should've built.
For all intents and purposes this is a marketing gimmick by Nikon, no auto focus in movie mode !!!!! hold the camera, look at the screen and operate the focus ring all at the samr time, pure marketing bollocks

Chase Jarvis test drives the camera Pentax should've built.
McBrian, Pro video makers are buying 35mm lens adaptors for thier video cams costing several thousand dollars, to get those "features". they take slr lenses, wide angle primes, mounted to a box and have the image area from the slr lens projecting onto a translucent (think focus screen type glass) g...

it also has a short recording time....5mins at highest quality... enough to film a clip, of a selective dof, or rack focus effect, telephoto or fisheye etc, to add in to your video timeline, along with your video camera footage......

and like us, pro video makers use manual controls for aperture, shutter, focus, and white balance, whenever they can! I know a girl who's a professional Focus Puller in the film industry. She basically follows the camera about, adjusting the focus manually and continuously. She has to know wha...

Look at this Clarky!
Brings back memories of a time a bunch of mates and myself were staying on a sheep shearing property out west. Sleeping on the floor of the shed my mate woke saying something had crawled into his ear and was doing backflips in there. So Dr Clarky with his bush doctoring skills set to work to ext...

K20D now £599 - Saw that coming!
It was £649 in SRS on Saturday and was eligible for the cashback then with a lens too. I picked one up with a 16-45 for £848, so £748 once I get the £100 back. Couldn't resist any longer! £599 is a great price though.

super wide lenses
The Sigma 12-24mm is also an option, which again is more expensive but can be used on a film or full frame body unlike the 10-20. It's also said to have slightly better sharpness. I very nearly bought a used one, but instead chose the 10-20. I haven't looked back, it is a very impressive lens. Finge...

super wide lenses
As an amateur I would go for the Sigma, buy it from a reputable dealer like Chris at SRS and be prepared to take it back if you get a lemon. I have had the pleasure of using the Pentax 12-24 it really is phenomenal, but for amateur use I couldn't justify the extra price tag.
