K20 focus adjustment chart

I couldn't read the small writing at all!........of course I'm suffering from back focus problems, like my K20 was!................I still think it's a scandle that we have to faff on with DIY charts and the like. A camera costing near £700 should be right in the first place!...........a real thumbs...

K20 focus adjustment chart

Did you print it out on A4 paper or A3:?: I haven't had the need to use it but printed it out on A4 and found it quite small and difficult to read. Or is it just my old eyes :? I printed on A4, 10% Grey (or Gray in the US).

K20 focus adjustment chart

What's important is to print to scale, i.e. set the Page Scaling to None in the Adobe Reader print dialogue. I fount that the test diagram just fits an A4 sheet with only a small cutoff on the long edges.

How do you delete a gallery photo?

Well I may be going bananas, but I am pretty sure, nay absolutely certain, that I deleted my sole gallery photo. It had only been posted as a trial. Today I saw that the Portfolio icon next to my name indicated that I had a portfolio. Sure enough, the deleted gallery photo had risen like a phoe...

Heavy handed Ebay (I think)

I'm a little surprised that they didn't warn you, but only a little - and only because there are hordes of listings for generic items, usually from far eastern sellers, with any number of cameras listed in either the title or sub-title (the ones I see say things like K20D K10D K100D - usually for th...

I really don't want to mention names and please don't guess because you will probably be quite wrong but there have now been instances where there have been alterations made that either subtely change the meaning of what is being said or indeed do so in a more substantial way. Sorry to be imprecise ...

Interesting, Prieni, but I think there's plenty of free speech around here isn't there? I offer this slightly "tongue in cheek" but there are some very nice bits of film of politicians saying things with utter sincerity, only to say the opposite when the situation makes it more convenient for the...

Well having read this thread I then went back to the Sigma Macro sale and to my suprise found a lot of it missing. I am presuming this must have something to do with it and to some extent I feel a little responsible because the second post on the thread was deleted by myself, purely because I was i...

Interesting, Prieni, but I think there's plenty of free speech around here isn't there? There is, but with respect, I think you're missing Prieni's point, John. You seem to be arguing that because a freedom is rarely exercised, it isn't much of a punishment to take it away. I would not be ha...

I agree with Unlocker. The job of moderating a forum is down to the moderators. If it becomes too big for those available, invite worthy members to be moderators to help. I too don't see the point of penalising everyone by withdrawing a feature that's finally been put back just because of a few who ...

This is a rather lengthy thread. The solution of course is to think before you type. Preview before you post. And if you still manage to type something, wrong/regrettable/stupid, post a note correcting/admitting/apologising, and then move on. Why would one need to go back (much) later and change...

Family fishing trip....

Looks like a great fishing spot Don, You can't beat the great outdoors for family bonding i say. When my kids were very young i would take them out to a friends sheep and cattle property in mid western NSW (30,000acres)and we would live rough for a week in shearers huts with nothing but smelly b...

Pentax Vs Canon & Nikon

My problem was the lock on, the lens (Sigma 135-400mm DGA PO) would hunt a bit before getting the initial focus and by the time it did the bird had gone. I cannot put it down to a light problem either as it was probably a bright a day that you are ever likely to get in Spain so I must put it down to...

Pentax Vs Canon & Nikon

The way that Pentax addresses autofocus has always been different to the others - they use a double check which is missing from Canon and Nikon cameras as far as I know. So a C/N will get its initial focus and fire, whereas a Pentax will get initial focus, then confirm it, then fire. The K20D ha...

Pentax Vs Canon & Nikon

Nikon D80 ... the focussing was so much quicker and quieter. I've never owned an SLR other than Pentax, so I can't comment on other brands. However, I've read many people criticising Pentax AF, and all the reports I read compare focus speed (ie, time-to-lock) without also comparing focus accuracy...

Pentax Vs Canon & Nikon

........ I would be very surprised if the SDM lenses were even close to the speed of the competition. Why? There are two factors determining focus speed - the speed of the control system (which gives instructions) and the speed of the actual mechanism. Pentax's SDM system (the mechanism) ...

Pentax Vs Canon & Nikon

To put Pentax cameras in perspective, price wise, with the only other camera I know anything about, the Nikon D3 (a neighbour has one):- The Nikon D3 has something like a 50+ point focussing system and can fire shots at about 9 fps, shake reduction is achieved within the lens making them expensiv...

Pentax Vs Canon & Nikon

Despite all the electronics, there is still a role for the photographer to play, and a few skills for him to learn. Focussing on moving objects is one of them. I can certainly attest to this. I've had the K10D for a little over a year and a half now, and my "in-focus" hit rate is considerably ...
