I promise this is the last one..

The plumage on the pheasants seemed so much more colourful where we stayed, so I took this.

Even though I autofocussed on the body of the pheasant, it seems to be slightly beyond the focal point, judging by the tree bark??? I think it works as a composition though.

As I said in my previous post, I intend to do a series of these on my website, so critique welcome, especially re. the presentation.

Cheers

Not too keen on the font used for 'British Wildlife' myself - seems a bit at odds with the subject, and the other fonts used. Perhaps it's the traditionalist in me, but the bottom fonts look more suited to me.

Hi Dan,

I agree..

I chose it without much thought to be honest. The bottom font (Garamond Italic) was the last one I used previously, so I just used it again.. the top one, (Gallante Ultra-Light) was just random from the fonts visible..

I'll change it a little later, I've got both images open still.

Cheers

Liam,

I had a couple of autofocus issues, then noticed that I had accidentally moved the selector wheel from centre to auto

Hi Tim,

I'll check that, although I think all my choices are menu only. (*ist DL)

Colourful blighters arn't they, but incredibly stupid.

One morning while driving to work I had to stop, get out of the car and chase the stupid b****r of the road, BTW nice pic Liam, not sure about the border though

I've had a couple of issues with this especially with the Sigma, try focusing from infinity back to the focus point rather than closeup to the focus point, seems to help quite a bit.

their most annoying trick is "OMG! a car is coming towards me! I should run away!" so they do. Straight away, down the middle of the road so you are forced to either deliberately run them over or slow down to scared Pheasant pace.

They do seem to have some difficulty remembering that they can fly. Perhaps it's race memory since those who take off when scared tend to get shot?

I wonder if my radiator gets hot enough to cook one of those things.....
of course you Britt's probably like them aged a fair bit, before you roast them....

you haven't seen a prairie chicken aka grouse, walking towards you with a curious expression, moments after your 410 shotgun killed his two buddies, giving you ample time to reload. again

remember my philosiphy on stupid animals is the same as for stupid people.
with millions of years of "Evolution" behinds us, we've had plenty of time to weed out the stupid ones.....therfore Darwin must be wrong....the dumb ones serve as proof there is a God (and he has a sense of humor).
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.
