Are there any Latin words which have entered the English language which do retain the latin plural form?
Alumni, termini, radii and larvae come to mind.

Bit like pouring treacle on a frosty day here.

That's because one can read and the other can write.

Upgrading will allow you to change sensitivity without using Sv, a facility I have found useful on several occasions.

Assuming the recipe is suitable for diabetics where is it on your Flickr page, please? I failed to find it.

Way back I was told that AV was the number of stops (+ or -) from f1 which had an AV of 0.

So f0.7 = AV-1, f1.4 = AV1, f2 = AV2, f2.8 = AV3 etc. Do the EXIF figures bear that out?

A few quick comments.

Perhaps your point about the importance of handling cameras as a starting point needs to be made more strongly. For me that has always been crucial.

I don't think I saw the question (when deciding on sort of camera) 'what will I be doing with the pictures I take?'

When referring to Pentax mention might be made of the value of SR on the camera and the backward compatibility with (widely available) older lenses. Also, perhaps, weather sealing.

I wonder if this also applies to washing machines....If so, any recommendations for on-line advice?
I gave up on Which years ago, apart from the brand reliability reports which can be of interest.

I have found Currys website quite useful for white goods. It includes detailed specifications in a consistent format and also has links to reviews on Reevoo. Like all user reviews these vary in usefulness and need approaching with care but can point up common short-term experiences on certain aspects of a product.

For washing machines Washer Help is interesting.
