I have a sigma 10-20 but haven't had much time to test it it does look a little soft to me. When I was using Nikon I had the Tamron which gets a lot of bashing but I really was happy with it. Even better than it though was the Nikon 12-24 which was excellent and I am missing it's IQ ( I bought it cause the Tamron had horrible AF on the d40)

I'd go try all three of them before making a choice.

Still can't decide then?

If I hadn't bought brand new transmission for my MTB I'd be buying your 50-150 just so I can compare them myself. Best of luck!

You can't compare the price of the Q to those of m4/3 or APS-C cameras because it is not one of them and does not pretend to be one of them.

It is like comparing the LX-5 with the K-r because the LX-5 costs 400£.

I will assume Pentax is positioning it as a niche product,

It is the exact same story with the X100, comparing a 1k fixed length camera to anything from mid-range DSLRs to m4/3s made no sens whatsoever. However X100 did not plan to take over m4/3 or DSLRs it was a product category all by itself. I assume this is what the Q is aiming for, to create a new category and be the only offering in that category.

It will be right after I am coming back from biking the South Downs, sore legs and all but I will try to make it. Been looking to find people to go snapping around around Watford so will make sure to make this one.

See crazily enough I see a lot more point on the Q than I do on the m4/3s

They just aren't that much smaller than a compact DSLR like a K-5, the moment you put a long lens on it you make it just as awkward to carry so you might as well get a smaller bodied DSLR.. and a few pancake lenses. Especially given that the new EPx cost near as much as a K-5....

The Q on the other hand is much smaller and can be seen as the niche/silly/fun camera that you take out when you can't be bothered with a DSLR. If I don't feel like taking the K-5 with me (yeah not happened yet) then I don't see me wanting to take an m4/3, but a Q? or an LX3? yeap am up for that

I have the AF in SEL mode so I can select the AF point when I want to. Could anyone enlighten me if while at that mode I can also manage somehow to select WB settings? (the WB button just moves the AF point) Thanks!

Took mine 5 1/2 hours by which time it was almost 11 o clock!!

I ended up playing Starcraft trying to forget about the new shiny K-5 sitting there without a battery! Not happening again got me two extra batteries today.

Trust me you will love it, it is an amazing camera.

Ok I will put it down to the estimation techniques. Maybe you are right and both cameras use the worst case scenario which means 35MB+ files...! Now I have to go and shoot and batch of stuff to see what pushes that file size compared to my normal 20MB ones
