He has a Pentax KX and tells me the flash won't pop up automatically anymore and he can see a screw in the view finder.
Anyone know a company local to Chesterfield that can look at it for him or should he just send it to Pentax ?

You really need a focal point unless it is some massive building.
I have also found that just because it has the option of 8mm why not bring it in a bit as it may suit the situation better. When I first got the lens I was always just using it at 8mm.

So went for Lithium as they lasted an age and I did not have to worry about flat batteries.
