Goodness, a wide subject that can be understood in many different ways. I like to think I am still learning day by day and hope I will continue to do so. I reckon that until about a year ago I took snaps, some were good some were not, now I take shots and my throwaway numbers has dropped a good deal.

However is it necessary to understand what you are doing to take a good shot, probably not, is it necessary to understand what you are doing to take continual good shots then almost certainly it is.

Without understand how a camera works you can’t have control of what you are producing. When you look at the subject you should be able to see the finished image and I don’t believe you can if you do not understand what happens when you squeeze the take button.

Welcome Gary, hope you get the DSLR soon because I am sure you will enjoy it. You only have to look at the manual when you need to know something. Most items are duplicated and once you are used to how the manual works you will have long since have learnt to use the camera.

Have all ways been puzzled why Banks I have never used are threatening to close my account and relatives I have never heard of fetch up and die in a country I did not know existed, when the Banks I do use never communicate with me and none of my known relatives are worth a bean.

I suppose it is an individual choice but if they sent me the wherewithal to return it then that is what I would do. I know it is a mistake on someone’s part and they could be asked to pay for it.

Sure you are right but don't dismiss the hair without looking, mine gave the same results except for the orientation and it was a hair.

If it only happens at the very high ISO then perhaps you could avoid them or allow so you can crop.

Sorry yes, the noise, looks about right for ISO that high but not the line, that is not right.

I too have the Sigma 105 and love it but as I have no experience of the Pentax I can't offer any real opinion. Perhaps a supplier will let you try both and then you can make up your mind. Mind you I think if you were happy with the Sigma then perhaps you should stick with that, you know, better the devil you know

Hi and welcome, I can't find the hot pixels, thought I had but with perseverance managed to scrape them off my monitor. Can see the line though and I can only offer the tale of a problem I had. Same problem on a camera of mine except it was up and down not across, it turned out to be a hair, had my hair cut and solved the problem, if it is a hair it may be trapped somewhere in lens or camera.

Hi jukar, I know what you mean I have just placed an advanced order for the K7 something I have not ever done before, not even seen one and I am so excited it is daft.

But it is nice to have something to look forward to so I decided to place my order and I am very glad I did.
