really nice! and I agree about the autofocus 1.4, i am also tempted, and portraits are one of my main interests so i guess its when rather than if. I'm using an M series 1.4 at present, and its great but the auto focus would be nice!

quite low noise for iso800 too, how did you process it?

Ah, but mine has a blue tint...

aaargh, you are right of course! funnily enough I can see the blue tint when i open it in photoshop but on the web it looks B&W.

adobe 98 color profile not being read by the browser i guess.....

i'd also like to see a version without the blur, although will reserve judgement which is better until seeing it!

my monitor is not calibrated, and in fact tends to the pink at least near the bottom of the screen (my monitor dramas continue), but it was obviously pinker than Daniels shot on the other thread and so i realised it wasn't B&W.

it's great! but is it supposed to be pink? I think i'd prefer it plain B&W

In certain lighting conditions, purple fringing is common to most DSLR's and has very little, if anything, to do with the lens.
I have noticed considerable difference in the amount of purple fringing between lenses. So I think it does have quite a bit to do with the lens. I'm not saying some doesnt happen in the camera too though.

very nice! but agree it looks over sharpened (the first one anyway)

I had always presumed that you really had to resize before sharpening and sharpen each resolution separately..

although usually I find that if the sharpening is right at hi res is is not enough at low res, which seems to be the opposite of what you are saying...

I've somehow managed to accumulate a bunch of cheap lenses. all working well but surplus to requirements.

so I thought I'd give you guys first shot at them before I bother with ebay. Nothing here is worth much over £20 but all of it usable.

all lenses have front caps, I don't have quite enough rear caps to go around, but I do have some.

contact me by PM for more details or to make an offer.

SMC Pentax-A 1:2 50mm (49mm filter thread) 6 aperture blades

SMC Pentax-M 1:1.7 50mm (49mm filter thread) 6 aperture blades

Pentax-A zoom 28-80mm 1:3.5-4.5 Macro, mechanically a bit loose but works fine. 8 aperture blades. I'm tempted to try to tighten it up since its otherwise fine.

Super Paragon PMC 135mm 1:2.8 (55mm filter thread) 6 aperture blades

Vivitar 135mm 1:2.8 MC (52mm filter thread) 6 aperture blades

Makinon 135mm 1:2.8 MC Macro (55mm filter thread) 8 aperture blades, separate macro ring on front of lens.

Vivitar 28mm 1:2.8 MC (49mm filter thread) 6 aperture blades

Vivitar MC 3x teleconverter PK

Sirius 2x Auto teleconverter PKA

Hoya 52mm Skylight (1B) (near new)

Kenko UV 55mm filter x2 (new)

M42 to K mount adapter:
New, and just tried once. I ended up with 2 because i ordered this and then found a cheaper one locally. This is the best of the several models sold by roxsen on ebay. Its an exact copy of the pentax adapter, and seems well made. It locks on to the body not the lens, and it allow infinity focus. Works very well. Comes with pouch and a key for removal.
If you want to remove it with the lens rather than leave it on the body, you can remove the spring that locks it in place on the body. Although then nothing is locked in place which might be a bit risky. Works for me though.

EDIT: I also have a broken ME super, and in the fridge more rolls of fuji reala 100 and fuji superia 400 than I can use.

EDIT 2: also a couple of 35mm negative developing tanks. old but look functional.

I had a old PKA zoom that wouldnt fit, as you describe turned so far but no further, turns out one of the flanges was bent in towards the lens just a tiny bit, scarcely visible. Don on this forum suggested that might be the problem and it was.

i bent it back and the lens fit fine.

it wasnt tooo bad a lens (zeiss branded jap made 70-210) but since i discovered how much softer it is than my cheap primes i've been reluctant to use it much.

OTOH i got a miranda 28mm prime off evilbay for £5 that i've had really good results from....
