Lens Fit Problem

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a K100D and have just acquired a cheep 28mm prime for it on Ebay.

The lens is a PHOTAX SUPER PARAGON F1: 2.8 28mm.

Around the front it has written SUPER PARAGON PMC II AUTO.

It was advertised as Pentax PKA fit, so it should fit my camera.

However, it does not!! It turns only so far and will not turn to the correct point nor click into place.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this lens not actually a PKA fit? The fitting looks almost identical to my other PKA lenses, so why will it not turn and click into place?

Could be the Ricoh mount - which was very very close to PKA.
However, be warned, some Ricoh mount lenses will go on but are a right royal pain to get off again

If you've already got the 18-55 kit lens, I'm not sure why you'd want to try such a cheap lens...

I had a old PKA zoom that wouldnt fit, as you describe turned so far but no further, turns out one of the flanges was bent in towards the lens just a tiny bit, scarcely visible. Don on this forum suggested that might be the problem and it was.

i bent it back and the lens fit fine.

it wasnt tooo bad a lens (zeiss branded jap made 70-210) but since i discovered how much softer it is than my cheap primes i've been reluctant to use it much.

OTOH i got a miranda 28mm prime off evilbay for £5 that i've had really good results from....

I have an old 28mm Vivitar lens that I have had had some good results from, easily on a par with the K100D kit lens at 28mm.

I did have a problem with a Vivitar 70-200 lens that wouldn't fit properly but this is due to the flange being too long, which required a gentle cut with a Dremel!! Though after seeing the results at 200mm I wish I hadn't bothered the CA is awful!
