A favourite bird of mine and a good reason to visit mid-Wales (if one needed one!)

We also have them in Gateshead on the Derwent Valley, but not in the the same quantity.

Very scary indeed, since the steam trains started running up and down the east coast main line I have seen similar antics.

for starters a great shot especially considering it was hand held. I presume this was feeding time at the farm. For me I would loose about an eighth of the right hand side, the bush is far too indistinct to frame the image.

The second one for me, it tells quite a story and feels quite intimate, were in the first image everyone is ignoring you, including Gandhi, giving the viewer a feeling of exclusion.

I just purchased the June issue of Outdoor photographer and flicked through to page 28, a section on Planning your location shoot, I was presented with a picture of Amble pier, my home patch. To some who live in iconic locations this may not be that exciting, Amble is the place that people go for fish & chips after visiting castles, famous gardens and the like and I'm really proud of it. So it had me wondering what surprising bits of your quiet little patch have appeared in publications, galleries or any other form and taken you by surprise.

A stunningly sharp set of images, what lens did you use? I am not quite sure about the blur effect in the background of the bird picture, it's a little too grainy and detracts from the wonderful clarity of the bird. I really like the flower shot, the only alteration I would make is to dispose of the twig top right hand side, it keeps distracting me from the subject.

You do not have to pay to go into the Cathedral, only to take photographs in a controlled manner. As beginner pointed out it is a church.
I have seen what it like with the no photography rule, the place would be illuminated with flashes going off if the rule was removed.

I could have worded that a bit better, this was my fathers opinion, he is hitting just short of 90 and stuck in his ways. Myself I think it is a good way of producing extra revenue and dealing with health and safety issues, tripods & the like.

My Father said exactly the same when I told him about it.
