Not sure about GIMP but Photoshop will sort this out quite easily using the distortion correction or lens correction tool depending on your version of Photoshop.

I don't know if it's deliberate but you have put the best one in the gallery. It seems to have been taken a few moments before the first of this set. You have the coble sailing into, rather than out of the picture. Also, as a result of the coble's position, the figures silhouettes stand out better because they are isolated from the other boats etc. IMHO

Thanks Barrie, I had intentionally left this one out of the series as it had some potential for tweaking. So for completeness here it is:

For me, the last one's got it. Nicely shot. Is that a caravan park in the middle distance? Looks somewhat crowded!
The last one in the set is quite unusual for my area, we very rarely get those large hazy sunsets. The caravan park is quite large, it is one of three in the immediate area causing the population to treble over the holidays.

Thanks Weldingblues & Techno-terminator

The composition is quite strong on 1 & 3, number 1 is a couple of my mad Irish friends who were waving and jumping around like loons just before I took this shot, I must admit it is my personal favourite.

Stunning shot, I can feel the impending doom just lucking at it.

Stunning shot, pin sharp and well composed. What tubes did you use?

This is the first of my images from the Durham photo evening, I've not had time to trawl through the rest.
