Problem solved. As Peter suggested it was a contact problem on the body side of the converter. A little loosening of the mount allowed the contacts to reseat.

Thanks Peter for your assistance.

Hi Peter thanks for the reply. I have cleaned the contacts at both ends of the adapter and also on the MZ6. But the camera still fails to show any aperture information in any mode and with a wide variety of 'A' 'F' or 'FA' lenses. The camera is also not controlling the aperture from the from selector.

The camera is working fine without the adapter in place.

If I switch to either the Z1 or K10 everything works as I would expect it to, so it would seem to be an interface issue with between the adapter and MZ6

It is not a great problem to me, but it bugs me when things don't work as they should.

Can anyone tell me if this adapter is fully compatible with a MZ6? The adapter is focusing any lens that attach to it, but I am not seeing any aperture information in the viewfinder or top panel. I also and I cannot adjust aperture via the front control lever. I have cleaned all the contacts on the camera, the adapter and a number of different lenses.

The MZ6 is working fine and all information is available with just a lens attached

The adapter also works fine on the K10 and all information seems to be available on the Z1

Any insight would be appreciated.

I have for sale a Vivitar 24mm PKAR fit prime lens, in good used condition.

The glass is clear of fungus, with a few dust specs, that appear to have no noticeable effect on IQ.

The barrel has some light wear as to be expected with a lens of this vintage. The extra pin for ricoh cameras has been removed so there is no chance of the lens fouling on the Pentax mount.

As usual I am willing to offer a full refund (in the UK) minus postage costs if the buyer feels the lens is not as described.

I am asking 50 GBP plus 5 GBP postage and packing (UK ). I will consider shipping overseas providing an agreement can be reached on carrier/postage.

I can accept payment by Paypal (marked as a gift) or by cheque. The lens will be shipped as soon as payment has cleared.

PM me with any questions - Steve

With all respect to earlier comments the 28-70 is in a different class to the 28 - 90. I have owned both and while the 28 -90 is reasonable when stopped down and also has extra reach, the 28-70 with its constant F4 maximum aperture is far superior.

This lens does however have a reputation for separation of the rear elements and also the zoom mechanism in some copies is not as smooth as you might expect. That aside if you can find a good copy you will not be dissappointed with its optical performance.

As for price, I had two copies and sold one in reasonable condition for £55 in March last year.
