No, that is correct but it will give you an idea of the capability of the K-5 (II(s))
Try some comparisons against the likes of the Canon 60D I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The K-20/K-7 had the first of the "new" CMOS sensors as the market turned its back on CCD.
I was at first was disappointed with the noise levels on my K-7, but you learn to overcome it first by adjusting the camera to try to use the lowest ISO you can, I always start with 100 and work my way up from there.
When shooting karts at the local track I use the wonderful TAV mode and let the camera decide the ISO I need for the shot, if you take your shots with -1 exposure compensation you can get away with faster shutter speeds and lower ISO but your pictures can be a tad dark but that can be fixed in software like Lightroom which also has some excellent noise suppression capabilities.

Oh, I forgot, quality glass will also make a difference. The "faster" the glass the lower you can keep your ISO.

I will be going from the K-7 (same sensor as K-20) to a K-5IIs.
If you want to know why, take a look at this camparometer.

Quite often an update can make other "improvements" that can be kept quiet, it's wise to update.

I have a K-r so is that the AF fine adjustment option? Can't see an 'apply one' or apply all' option.

The cloth in the top left hand corner looks much better from the K-5IIs than it does on the Canon 5d MkII and a little better than the MkIII. they both win when it comes to any writing but the cloth looks better with the Pentax.

Can someone please explain what it all means, I can't make out which is the 5, which is the 5II and which is the 5IIs

It's OK I'm using the comparometer and there is no competition in my book, from this evidence I can't see Pentax selling many of the 5II.
