You've made the right decision Simon, despite what the naysayer says. Welcome to sharper = clearer = better photos

Well I've seen thousands, on my camera!

I always use continual AF, TAV f5.6-f8 1/1000 if I want to freeze the action, and for the panning shots usually 1/125 and about f11.
Works for me, and the colour rendition of the DA*50-135 is beautiful.

And moire does not only occur on textiles - there are plenty of examples on all kinds of multi-patterned surfaces - bird feathers, corragated iron, fencing etc.
Real world shooting with the 5iis ....
Moire? What moire? Now if I'm not mistaken these are bird feathers and no moire! I have had my 5iis for over a year now and witnessed it once!
Moire occurs so rarely it is not worth bothering about.
It sometimes looks like you have it, but when you zoom into the picture it's gone.

Get the 5iis.

QC, Ignore the stories about the speed of the lens, as long as you learn its limitations you can use it very successfully for fast action, and apparently it is awesome for portraiture.
Some karting shots with it.

I have to admit considering the lighting conditions those TC shots look quite impressive - in my experience it's unusual to get such good shots with a TC when the lens is used at maximum aperture.

I feel a sell-off of my TC's coming up

p.s. not taking anything away from the skills of the photographer with my comments - Sorry Steve
No need to apologise Lenny, I made sure I used the old system of focal length for minimum shutter speed and trusted the SR to do the rest. I think I too will be selling off my TCs too.

Cheers guys, the TC is a must now after using it. In the available light it did hunt a little but that was probably a lot to do with people dashing in-between the lens and my chosen, distant, subject. For pretty much grab shots I was very impressed; and come bonus time, mid April, I will be grabbing one.
The 560 is way out of my league but I have to say what a great lens. A bit front heavy but with my gripped 5iis on the back it balanced beautifully and was very handholdable - not a word but you know what I mean.
If only SRS did finance ... Chris?

iPhone shot of the tiny Pentax/Ricoh stand. Small but popular and there.

I took my camera in with my DA*300 to test the 1.4TC and was suitably impressed.
All images simply exported from LR5.3 zero PP and all handheld.

I had the camera on TAV and left the aperture wide open and pushed the shutter to 1/400
