How close to these were you Dan and how much have you cropped the images?

Great set as always Mike, love the way you've captured the downdraft (if that's what it's called) in number 3.

Here is another of the same bug, he/she is very shy and keeps hiding around the back of the plant.

Maybe Charlotte can identify it correctly (please )

It was on the wife's spent lavender and as soon as I wen anywhere near it with the camera it would hide behind the lavender. So I chased it back to the side I needed it to be by wiggling my finger near it.
I managed to get this one at f11 to try to get enough light in using the DOI ring flash toned down a little.

Pentax A 50mm f1.7 on 99mm of tubes.

I like this, you may get some comments saying the foreground is blurred and you shouldn't have the horizon central, but if a photo works who cares and this photo works.
My criteria is: would I hang it on my wall? And the answer is a resounding Yes

Back to topic.
I have thought of a few more since the first post. No particular order:
Polar Bear and Cubs emerging from hibernation.
Uluru at sunrise/sunset
A Blue Whales' fluke as it disappears back into the deep
A cheater at full speed in the wild
A volcano erupting
A trout sipping a Mayfly off the surface of a chalk stream
That Walls Vienetta effect in the layers of a glacier
etc. etc. etc,
As I said earlier it is too difficult a list to chop down to just the one
