After searching around for a macro lens and gathering information from users here and from other places they've all come to the conclusion that a 90mm is best suited for my macro needs which are to make bugs/insects my main macro subject.

I would like to know if anyone here has any experience with this particular lens and how they find it in regards with the competition and as a lens overall and maybe if you can share your pictures with me?

The best price I could find for this lens is £354.95 from Jessops and LCE are willing to price match it.

to these pictures... I am aware that to get such results requires patience, skill etc... however I'll be happy to know I have the equipment to do so when and hopefully I'm able to take such images.

I am thinking of either purchasing the Pentax 35mm Macro SMC DA f2.8 or the Sigma 50mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro, however I'm not too sure if I'm keen on a fixed focal length.

Pictures would help. Also would you be willing to split? I'm interested in the Tamron lens.

Thanks for the feedback guys. These pictures were simply taken to test the capability of the camera and lens. The only picture I cropped was the second one with the trainers. I haven't touched up any of the pictures in any other way, I imported them from RAW in to Adobe Lightroom and then just resized and saved them. Hopefully I can take some much more meaningful pictures soon, weather permitting ofcourse.

This is my first attempt at taking pictures with my first DSLR, just thought I'd add what I think are my best shots so far. Criticism is welcomed.

I went out and purchased the Pentax K-R today and grabbed it for £378.99. It's currently charging and I absoultely cannot wait to try it out.
