Went out to Ashton Court, Bristol yesterday to try out my new lens the DA 55-300mm, C&C always welcome.






















Below image was taken with the Tamron 90mm.

The price is still the same for the item I wanted (55-300), oh well.

I completely forgot about the shutter speed, like an idiot I was using a slow shutter speed to compensate for the lighting.

I was using a tripod for the first picture, I'm not sure whether the blur is due to the short shutter speed or/and that the tripod shook when taking a picture even when using the Ir remote.

The last picture was taken indoors using a Ikea lamp, hence the yellowish light and obvious shadow.

The ISO was 200 and 800 in that order for the first 2 pictures. 200 being the lowest I can go.

It didn't even occur to me to experiment with flash argh!

Still playing around with the macro, still a lot of improvement to be made. C&C welcome.

I would like to know what your walk around lens is and why you prefer it over others. Mine is the Pentax 18-55mm DAL at the moment as that's what came with my camera. I've been looking at the Pentax smc DA 18-135mm to have as my walk around lens in the future mainly because of it's range. Anyone have this lens, what do you think of it, hows the quality etc...?

Hi, just wanted to know your thoughts on this lens and if anyone here has any experience with it, how does it fair to it's competitors? It's hard to find a picture taken at 55mm and then taken at 300mm so I can get an idea of how much of zoom it has.
