The comments on this image certainly confirm that small details can make quite a difference in the overall image. My mind's eye would be happy to see just the one bigger runner right where they are, but running in the opposite direction. But that's not how it happened, and the image is a fine one.

Very cool Roger - and, in this case, the large version is definitely worth seeing.

Thank you for your thoughts LennyB and Benz3ne. And thanks for the chuckle, walkeja.

A few from this past summer - on the shuttle boat from Rochefort to the isle of Aix. Not that I don't appreciate all those beautiful frosty, snowy pictures that have been cropping up here, but I do need a reminder that we are on track - spring and summer will be back!

5 & 6 tick the boxes for me, plenty of interest in those, graphically speaking. 7 has something of an ethereal quality to it that I like too.

Definitely feeling the snow and cold in these, John. Reminds me of my childhood years in western Massachussetts - I loved waking up in the morning after a snowstorm, great memories. Today? Well, I could manage a day or two of the stuff, but nostalgia only goes so far...

Wonderful set, Peter, especially 3-8 in my eyes, and of those, I'm with Steve above - 5 and 8 are particularly well photographed and processed.

Both, but I do feel the colour version adds helpful contrast, while remaining discreet enough to not interfere with reading the image. Don't know if that's very clear... Very different results at any rate - painting vs engraving, in a way. Lovely.
All these frosty / icy images should be motivating me to get out (early in the morning to boot), but gosh, I hate cold temperatures with a vengeance...

I thought I'd commented on these Gareth, but I guess I stopped at admiration. Like Bill, I'm particularly taken by those two tree images - they do have something special.

Beautiful colours Steve, and composition.
