I reckon that is a good point. What's on the internet is free right? - seems to be a widely held opinion.

I know what you mean Matt! I have sold no images yet. I don't agree that CSS and HTML is complex - it can be if you want it to be. I kept my deliberately simple.

Your post seems to suggest you tried iWeb or similar, and come up against the crap that is called "updating" i.e. not rebuilding the whole time.

This is why I learnt some HTML and CSS, updating my site and backing it up are so easy now.

I have never user Photo blogging software either so cannot say.

I am happy to leave my site as is.

I did try Gallerie for the Mac, and used it for awhile, it is faster than iWeb, but I prefer the look and feel of my own designed pages.

I use TRANSMIT in order to upload the files and even edit directly the files many times for minor changes using TextEdit.

I hope to hear back in a few days.
Good luck Roseanne hope they replace it for you - would be appropriate under the circumstances.

Some lovely images indeed! No wonder you miss the camera when it is away, I would too!

Roseanne, sorry to hear your sad story of repairs. I am indeed a lucky guy, as everything seems to be OK, apart from dirt on the sensor and one or two specks on the focussing screen. The flash seems OK, but to be honest I have not used the camera too much in the past 2 weeks since getting it back. Your story does not make good reading.

The shop where I bought the camera, also took it in for repair (to be sent to Pentax), it was they who offered the loan camera.

Is it not possible to go back to where you bought the camera?

I see that setting is off, so I cannot test it out now, but I will remember it.

Well today, I have had to hand my K10D to my Pentax dealer after 8 months, the camera is dead as soon as the pop-up flash is enabled, the screen is OK, the viewfinder display, auto-focus everything seems normal, but try and take a picture - NOTHING.

Put the pop-up flash back down and out of use, no problem - pictures as usual.

They have loaned me their K100D, and say it may take up to 3 weeks.

As I am trying to teach myself lighting using my 2 Pentax flashes, lightstands and brollies, I am not so happy this morning.

I saw another thread on dpreview I think it was

My serial number starts with 245, I had heard that others on another forum had this exact failure, but the serial numbers quoted were all starting 22 .....

TODAY, 12 days later, my camera is ready!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not bad repair time. Great, I have missed it, even though the K100D, also takes lovely images. The shop said, the Pentax Switzerland technicians have replaced the whole electronics inside at no cost - thank heavens for guarantees! Lets hope that is the last time also it needs such a big visit to the technicians.

Actually my K10D had a new mother-board fitted, that's what it said on the repair sheet. The is guaranteed for 8 months, so I have 4 months real guarantee left and 8 months on the Mother-Board.[/quote]

I also like the grey, however I also started out down the iweb template route, and what I found as I added more and more images, the updating got to be a pain.

So also using an older Powermac with 450 MhZ and 1GB memory, I learnt a little about HTML and CSS and rewrote the whole website in the Mac HTML text editor Taco. Now if I make a spelling mistake or want to change loads of images, it is done as and when I feel like it in a very short time. I am very much happier and have a lot more control over the whole site.

I suppose it depends on what you want. I wanted it easy to maintain, no flash, no movies, speed and I think I succeeded in that and am happy. You may have a different experience with templates.

I did also try some other templates. Galerie is one, and I actually used that for awhile, better and faster than the iweb templates, but the same problems when wanted to update OR even as I should have said before backing up the site.

All I do to backup is drag and drop to my desktop and then onto a separate drive. I find this the fastest and most efficient way.
