Try also very gently bending the lever back to a central position - sometimes the lever binds agaisnt the side of the slot and slows aperture movement. Otherwise, it could be oil on the blades. This should be visible on the blades.

Thanks. Didn't think it could be done. Nice to know. Now, off to find a K10D. I do like the unpredictability of in camera multi exposure.

It looks like the D300 is a good move, just for the flash control.

I am still stuck in the dark ages with an istDS, but I generally prefer available light, so flash is generally no an issue, but image stabilisation with any lens might be if I moved to K10D/K20D. Arguably, D300 high ISO performance might be the answer to this.

I see references to this on the net and references to the manual, but cannot find the actual procedure anywhere? All help greatly appreciated.

Try ebay for film. There are some amazing bargains on just out dated Fuji Film (£22 for 50 rolls of colour 400asa film) and I have had good results with Tesco recently for processing - clean, punchy prints and clean negs. Very cheap (£3.50 for 24 prints and CD. The scanning is not too great on the CD).

I have the M version. It behaves very well on an istDS - sharp, great colour.

I use an older Sunpak model which I think is similar to the Vivitar. Used with a wireless transmitter in case I fry the istDS.
