ist DS in camera multiple exposure - is it possible?

I see references to this on the net and references to the manual, but cannot find the actual procedure anywhere? All help greatly appreciated.

Not as far as I know. If it is possible never found out how in years of owning one. I don't remember anything in the manual about it either.

I had a DS and don't remember any multiple exposure feature.

K10D has Multiple Exposure.

The ist D had a 1-9 shot multiple exposure setting.

But I can find no way or reference for the DS.

On the DS, you need to do the following:-

Click on th fn button, click on the up arrow, and select Drive Mode Auto Bracket.

Then click on the Menu button.

in the rec mode, go to Auto bracket.

use the right button twice and the various brackets will come up. select what you want, press ok.

When you want to shoot brackets, just choose the fn and up arrow (only 3 brackets shots will be made though)

"Multiple exposure" usually means multiple exposures on a single frame. Bracketing makes multiple exposures on multiple frames.

Fair enough Ice, I thought that is what the OP meant.
I have just looked at the K20D, which has mutliexposure, I have not used, but the DS does not have it.

I normally use Photomatix, to merge a number of Exposures to make the photo. Not used the multi exposure accordingly.

If it can't be done in camera, it can definitely be done in post processing (PP), with much more certainty of the outcome. PP would be my preferred preference anyway.

My handbook does not have any reference to multiple exposure in it, though the screen shot of drive modes does show it - I assume they took the same shot as they used for the D.

Also the second link only refers to the D, not the Ds.

Thanks. Didn't think it could be done. Nice to know. Now, off to find a K10D. I do like the unpredictability of in camera multi exposure.

That manual is for the *ist, the film version of the camera!, not the *ist DS.
