I don't see the attraction of the D300: big, in some ways quite clunky, not noticeably better than the K20D except perhaps for flash and AF performance. Neither is a big deal imho. But if you go for one - good luck.

I agree. I am hankering after a K7. When the price is £600 there will be a stampede for it.

A 70-200 lens I bought recently had a plastic flange that fouled the mirror on an ME Super. Just remove it: three screws usually hold the flange in place.

I've had my MX since 1978 and still love it to death. With a 40mm pancake lens it is very pocketable.Great stuff.
I am considering a 40mm Pancake at this moment: what do you think of it? Any comments/impressions would be welcome.
Go for it. The whole combo is very pocketable. I also use a leather half case originally made for the Voigtlander Bessa R which fits well and has a built in mini grip - a great combination.

I agree - the K100d super would be fine: compact, good performance and quite robust.

Ffordes have the DBG3 grip at £79 used (almost like new apparently). Listed under Digital Cameras/Pentax in the used section of the website.

Thanks for the information. I'll try gluing it and see what happens.

Thank you all. I will try superglue and report back.

The damage was a sideways hit onto a wall as the camera was hanging on my shoulder. The strap lug too most of the force but looks slightly bet, which probably cracked the plastic.

Who does repair Pentax cameras these days?

I managed to crack the top plate of my istDS, near the strap lug. Does anyone have any advice on which glue to use please - hopefully something that will give an "invisible" mend.

Also consider a 50mmF1.4 or F1.7 with 1.5x teleconverter. Works well enough, especially for people, where ultra sharpness is not usually required.
