Vivitar Lens not fitting...

I am hoping someone out there can help me..
I have a manual Vivitar 28-70mm macro zoom Lens, with the A setting, which fits my ME Super and P50 quite happily but will not go onto my K200D? Compatibility with my other manual lens' Pentax 40-80mm, 50mm and a selection of Sigma's, reversing ring etc etc all fit happily to the K200D.
The Vivitar goes on but it does not twist and lock into place, I am not intending to apply brute force to it but I am wondering if there is a simple fix.

Some third party lenses have a longer flange than usual (if that's the right word - I mean the bit that stands proud and protects the aperture lever).

You can file it down, but be careful where the filings go. Do it the same way that the wise man scrapes burnt toast - from underneath!

A 70-200 lens I bought recently had a plastic flange that fouled the mirror on an ME Super. Just remove it: three screws usually hold the flange in place.

I am ashamed to say I was a touch too gentle trying to put the lens on...
I am generally a bit ham fisted so just a little bit more effort got the lens on, and I am pleased with the results so far..
Now back to my ham fistedness, I have a partially dismantled SMC 50mm lens.... Now I managed to keep all the parts but reassembly is beyond my dexterity levels and patience can manage, does anyone know a good repair man in the Notts/Derby/S.Yorks area?

Have you tried if you can get the lens off again? I mounted a Tamron on my gx10 once and for some very long seconds I couldn't get it off - i haven't dared to try once more so I have a 350mm mirror lens that don't get used.

Its ok, just tried and it comes off!!
