I think Katzeye should have the dimensions. I think they are the same as my DS.

I have the Cosina and can attest to it being a good lens, slghtly soft wide open, good stopped down one or two stops, and works well on digital and film.

Canon would get my vote: you can use M42 and almost all K mount glass. I suspect the 7D may also be at the same level as the Nikons for low light performance. Otherwise, I think from limited experience Canon handling is better than Nikon.
Cough cough, splutter splutter......

Regards

Works fine for me. I found the Nikons a little clunky. Of course, neither brand is upthere with Pentax on handling : )

The DA40/2.8 works quite well on film.

I thought Nikon could use M42 and K mount with an adapter?
Nikon higher end bodies can also meter with my Adaptall 2 lenses which Canon is unable to do (as I understand it) due to the mount change a few years back.

Saying that if Canon can get the same low light performance as the D300 with a 18MP sensor then I can see real panick in the Nikon camp.

A 1.6 18MP crop sensor with 8fps will make a excellent wildlife/sports camera "IF" the all new autofocus system performs as they say it will.
I think all Canons meter fine in aperture priority and manual. AF confirmation works if you get the adaptors with the AF module. K mount, M42, all old Nikon (!), Leica R mount and the Adaptall equivalents etc. Canon FF bodies might cause some issues with lenses with deep rear elements.

We'll see about the new AF system, but not really the point if mounting old glass.

I susuect Pentax will surpise us in a few months. They clearly still CURRENTLY have the capability to produce interesting products.

Sigma make a good and relatively compact 28/1.8 - the old manual focus version. Probably relatively cheaper and full frame to boot.

If there is a fully compatible adaptor to use K mount lenses, then I would be happy.
