Just adding to the praise - very nice!!

Must admit I don't really see the point of adding frames for web viewing but that's probably just me

Despite having a definite soft spot for landscapes I'm picking the last as my favourite, great abstract

I've just bought the AF360 but found the manual somewhat unclear, I highly recommend the .PDF guide put together by Mattmatic, costs next to nothing and much more informative than the manual

Hi Vic,

It is difficult to decide based upon other peoples opinions, my suggestion would be to buy one and try it, the Tamron or Pentax. If you decide it isn't for you you should be able to sell it and get your money back.

The reason I say this is that I read many glowing reviews on the Tamron 18-250 so decided to buy one, unfortunately it didn't quite live up to my expectations so I sold it - you really need to try one to be able to decide

I think it works out well for both enthusiasts and kids, the Thomas weekends are 2/3 times a year at the most and judging by the number of people on the train generate some much needed income which keeps the trains running for everyone to enjoy. I'm sure it also pays towards the railway having "guest" engines which it does every year, generating even more interest - it certainly will next April when Tornado goes on the line at Llangollen, don't think I'll be able to get this spot quite so easily that week!!

The shot I actually went to take was without a train, I've been asked a few times for photos of this location and have been waiting for the autumn for some additional colour in the trees.

Having said that I do like the shot, face and all and I'll definitely be revisiting too to catch one of the steam trains in their normal livery, I can't believe I've never tried this spot before

Wonderful morning in North Wales yesterday so I made it down to Llangollen for sunrise to take a few shots. Afterwards I called in at Berwyn Station to catch a shot of the steam train going past, forgot it was Thomas the tank engine weekend, apparently this is "Douglas"
