Croft Nostalgia Weekend, August 8-9

I know this has previously been mentioned in passing, but the Croft Nostalgia Weekend is nigh and a few PU regulars have expressed an interest in attending the event.

It takes place this Saturday and Sunday, at Croft Circuit, Dalton on Tees (DL2 2PL), with car racing, air displays and military parades on both days. I don't yet have a full timetable, but will post a link as soon as it becomes available. I might be there both days, but will probably cover the Mini Festival at Oulton Park on Saturday and move up to Croft on Sunday, when the Vulcan is due to appear as part of its farewell tour. I'll be working, but would love to hook up for a coffee and a natter if anybody else is in the vicinity.

I'm planning to be there on Saturday and Sunday. I'll be spectator side and while I'll have the camera with me, I have a feeling I'll spend more time watching and soaking the atmosphere up than photographing (although that might change when I get there LOL). With the Vulcan making an appearence, I expect that Sunday will be very busy, as will the surrounding roads. However, it's doing a full display at Elvington near York before heading up to Croft, so a lot of diehards might go there instead of Croft.

So we didn't meet up, Barrie, but you did spot me!

Mobile reception was poor all weekend - particularly troublesome on Sunday, when Mrs A wandered off with my car keys and I was unable to locate her. It was nice to make Simon Harrison's acquaintance on Sunday and I hope it won't be too long before I'm back at Croft. Haven't yet edited many photos, because I've been touring NE England & SE Scotland on various errands, but I'll post some in due course. First, though, I hope to take in WWT Washington before heading south tomorrow afternoon.

I'd much prefer to stay up here, mind...
