Thanks for those details Bill

I'm just off the phone with ACS there and they say they done a few K5 conversions, so that's good news. I'm going to pack up my K20d and ship it off to them as well to get looked at. Hopefully a loose connection but I'm not holding out much hope for that. Would be nice if it was though.

Incidently, what lens do you typically use? I use a Sigma 24m manual prime mostly and sometimes a Pentax F35mm to 70mm . Had been using a sigma 10-20mm but though it had a very noticeable hotspot in IR.

Love IR and after my IR converted K20d calved on me at the weekend, these have me pining to spend money to get back in the saddle so to speak.

Who are the pentax IR conversion go to guys nowadays? I'd consider getting my K5 converted .... that's if its a good 'donor' body for the conversion? My K20d had an 850nm filter. I'm thinking a 720nm is the one Id go for next

For now I'm waiting on a Hoya R72 filter to see how it does on the K5 and K3.... no idea what the exposures will need to be

Oh... in terms of my favourites here, Id have top say 2 & 6 are my stand outs.

Whatever my issue is, it looks like faulty hardware. Decision now is whether to send it for repair when youre not certain of the cost OR look about converting my K5 which doesn't see a lot of action since the K3. I assume the K20d glass could be used

Anyone willing to offer advice?

Just took my K20d out in the hotel room on a weekend away in Scotland and the bugger isn't playing ball...and a 2 week holiday coming up shortly as well. Deg nab it

No metering or focus. No lights in the view finder. The menu screens are available though both fully charged batteries I've tried are showing red. The LCD turns off when I half press the shutter button but as I've said, nothing comes alive in the viewfinder

Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms?

There's an x on the map close to where I live (3 miles). No name against it?

A very nice shot of the specimen. I prefer the portrait shots myself to get a bit of personality in the shot image.

I had the same experience. I relied on pure persistence and luck to get a sharp composed shot. Keeper rate was about 1 in 50.

Gotta love the jumping spider. Thomas Shahan is the master when it comes to these beasties

Almost feel arm twisted (in a good way) to post my 12 from 2014. Some who have already posted have incredible consistency and range......the quality of their work is superb. That's not how my year has been. Looking back across the year, I struggled to get anything worth showing for a few months. Plenty of snaps taken but no more than that .....but what the hell...Its given me a drive to get out more often right across the year ahead and use the camera with a bit more purpose. I hope it'll be more difficult to choose my list next January

4, 9, 10 & 12 are the stand outs for me

I guess one of my most recent ones is my whimsical favorite. A four shot panoramic taken with an IR converted K20d
