I had the same experience. I relied on pure persistence and luck to get a sharp composed shot. Keeper rate was about 1 in 50.

Gotta love the jumping spider. Thomas Shahan is the master when it comes to these beasties

Isn't the usual method to capture the little horrors (spiders, not grand-kids) and refrigerate them for a while, so that they slow down for a while?

Might work for the grand-kids too...
