What are the advanced features? In terms of power, I have, ampngst others, a Metz CT60 which also comes in handy for welding up car wings.

I'm sure that there may be advantages to a dedicated flash, but are they really worth the £200 odd extra?

I have a K200D and an assortment of bits to go with. When I need a flash with a bit more oompfh, I stick one of a couple of old 'auto thyristor' flashes (I've checked the trigger voltage) on the hot shoe, set to manual, set the ASA, choose the aperture, and away I go. It seems to work OK, providing I remember to set these few basic things, which isn't difficult.

The question is, is it worth me getting a matched Pentax flash unit? What more am I going to get that is worth the considerable amount of money such flash units cost?

Well, I've been messing around with it, and it seems to be working to some degree. I set it on Av, and it coped with fixed ISO 200. I need to do a little more research, but it looks like the tennermight have been worth it.

Picked the above flash up at the Wolverhampton Camera Fair today. I thought it worth a tenner on a tryout. I know it won't do all the bells and whistles on my K200D, but I sort of hope it might be a little bit more helpful than a full manual unit, and a little more pokey than the flip up. (I've checked the trigger voltage BTW. 3.2v)

I don't have much of a problem using manual flash, but I want something a little more portable than my CT60.

I have the chance to buy one of the above flash units, but the battery is duff. Anyone know where I can get a cheap replacement, or, even better, anyone got the measurements for the battery?
