It's far too confusing. We were in a cadbury shop this week & my wife pointed out pick n' mix at 1p per gram. To see what kind of value this was, the following had to occur in my head:

1p x 1000 = £10 a kilo.
£10 / 2.2 (lbs in a kilo) = £4.55 a pound
4.55 / 16 (ounces in a lb) = 28 and a half pence per ounce
28.5 x 4 = £1.14 a quarter

This obviously didn't happen as quickly as you read it above, but the result was me uttering
"One pound fourteen a quarter, bugger off, I thought this was a discount village !"

If it's large portions you're after, imperial still wins. Just order a Yard of ale It'll cost more than a pint though !

I don't have the 16-45 but £130 seems a good price. If you don't appreciate the upgrade then I'm sure you could easily sell it on ebay & probably make a small profit.

I expect to see a lot of the mark II kit lens up for sale after xmas as people are buying them with the K20d in order to qualify for the cashback (me included).
I will probably keep my copy as for the price, it's worth keeping as a backup, I'm sure most people new to Pentax will do the same, but those upgrading to the K20d who already have better glass will still need to buy it to get the cashback & would probably be looking to offload it quickly.

Of course, the more there are for sale, the lower the prices will be. So if you do miss the extra 10mm then you can always sell the 16-45 & pick up a 18-55 II cheaply.

I'm expecting that, when the current agreement with Tokina ends, that we will see Pentax developed lenses being released for other systems under the Hoya banner.

Same in the UK, we seem to be surrendering bit by bit to metric however. People have actually been through the legal system here for stll selling in Lbs & ounces rather than Kilos. It's ridiculous. I for one, don't want my beer served in half litre glasses. I want a full Pint !

There's your problem. No good thinking in Metric & printing in Imperial !

Nice composition & tones, bar the unsaturated parts in the branches & the sea, if these were sorted with the same toning it'd be very nice.
