Well, I bought a Manfrotto 055 tripod in the Black Friday sale (25% off a discounted price), which with the Manfrotto promotion gave me a free head. Told Mrs L I had saved her some money as my present was sorted! Almost got away with it.

I can see now it is different to the Lee Filters, and the round filters are probably more manageable than the square type. I see that Pentax is introducing an ultra-wide angle prime lens in 2017 which, if it is around 20mm, might take a smaller filter rig and will definitely be in my wish list.

Thanks John, just staggered back from the pub stuffed to the gills. Somehow ended up with three Christmas cakes so in a quandary which to keep and which to give away!

I love this lens and have been considering this Lee Filters system, but hadn't appreciated how large the glass is. Thanks for sharing.

I have found a magic product that makes unscrewing anything really easy - marigold washing up gloves! Jam jars, plastic milk bottle tops, whatever. For filters I would hold between the palms like you were praying, and twist.
