If correct, not really an upgrade path more an attempt to keep the value of the camera up, I would think. The K-1 doesn't seem old enough to warrant a full new replacement.
Like Steve I'm happy sticking with APS-C. I'm looking forward to hearing what the new DA* 11-18mm is like. Will it be worth upgrading from my trusty Sigma 10-20mm ?
It is also not old enough to warrant ending software upgrades to the K1 which, if the rumour is true, will be the result.

If the links on the site are true then the changes in the K1-II were intended as a software upgrade to the original model but cancelled for this launch instead. Not an appealing strategy. If they are hoping K1 owners will rush to trade up they will be disappointed.

Weight 7kg! Thank goodness for carbon fibre. Probably firm as a rock though.

I have for the first time entered an open photography exhibition by a local art society; £10-15 per photo to enter, all to be mounted and framed for hanging. As my photos aren’t standard size I made my own mount but the framing cost £44 each so, if you add up the printing, framing and entry fee that comes to about £60. Ok, you can get standard frames for much less which would bring the cost down to say half that, so I was amazed to see sale prices on some as low as £24 and almost all under £50. In other words just about covering the material cost and nothing for the creative effort nor the time spent processing, let alone the investment in equipment used. The photos were rated good enough to be exhibited so why would the photographers put such an insignificant value on their work?

I use ccleaner regularly, it’s free with an upgrade to pro level for a modest cost. Never had problems with wiping search history and temporary files, registry cleaning and defragging. Also secure disc wipe should you need that. Pro version is programmable to run in the background.

You need Sikypix for pixel-shift images before exporting to Lightroom or whatever as otherwise there are odd artifacts. Apart from that I haven’t used it but maybe it’s worth a closer look.

Pentax products are amongst the best on the market so if they go under it will be down to their marketing, customer and after sales service. They really don’t get that this business is more than just making a one-off sale, it is a continuous relationship. That’s why almost all pros use Canon and secondly Nikon, those companies provide a huge support service because they know that if you are earning a living doing this you cannot afford to be messed about. Maybe that is why their products cost more but for many that is a price worth paying.

I think some of these responses are a bit daft, mille19 has a good point about the response he received and is right to be aggrieved, that sort of attitude can really put one off a company. Personally I would have taken all my kit to the nearest camera store and swapped it for another make there and then. Would it be too much to ask for Ricoh to sell a disc, after all you can get all sorts of other bits you might lose? Did you know that new cars come without CD players - does that mean you don’t buy a car because you have to transfer everything onto your phone or usb stick?

I like no. 2 best, she looks a bit serious in the others and it balances the context nicely. Dingo, maybe she was cold?
