Kai at Digital Rev has mentioned angry Pentaxians as well, he said we probably didn't get enough cuddles as children. Granted this was after he described Pentax cameras as 'made by Aspergers, for Aspergers'...
Pretty tacky using this condition as a term of abuse, as someone with a family member having this condition i find it extremely offensive.

Impressive set but for me no. 6 stands out, gorgeous light.

And it says 1 in stock, more on the way. Where from, I wonder?

I tend now to use the 28-105mm as a lightweight walkabout option for general use, and it does give excellent results. However in more challenging light and where the extra width is needed in landscapes and architecture the 24-70mm is the lens of choice, in reality it is probably the lens I use more than any other. You have the constant f2.8 throughout and that comes at a price in cost and weight but the extra one or two stops extend your handheld options.

I would like to see more lens accessories now, like extension tubes and teleconverters, to complement the new lenses. Also a tilt-shift lens; the Samyang one is very good but it would be good to see what Pentax could do.

Compared to other bodies the Pentax K-1 has relatively few focus sensors, all of which are limited to the reduced APS-C field, so I am wondering whether the flexibility to use both formats is the reason why there aren't more. If the sensors covered a wider field then switching to crop modes would necessitate disabling the outer ones but that should be simple to accommodate.

Striking image Peter, how was it in colour.
Any colour cast ?

There seems to be a few types available, fotodiox pana 66, Lee 150, haida or nisi,
Don't know about hi-tec.
If it is advertised as fitting the Tamron 15-30mm does that mean it will fit the pentax ?

Cheers
The Lee Filters SW 150 fitting for the Tamron 15-30mm is the one to buy for the Pentax lens, so presumably other makes for the Tamron lens will fit also.

I bought the SW 150 system with the same reasoning as pschlute, but any 150mm filter system takes a lot of space in your bag and I spent a while trying different bags, which need to be at least 190mm deep internally. Also if you leave the mount ring on the lens that increases the space it needs, so limiting what else you can pack. The standard 6 and 10 stop filters have a colour cast which Lee have addressed with their new v. expensive versions but I have managed to rectify it easily in Lightroom by adjusting the white balance; I guess with practice you could do that in camera instead.

I am still not sure, I like the sound of the improved low light performance even though it is excellent already. It occurs that software updates will now only apply to the Mk II.

A Pentax MX-1 or Q-S1 will produce a better A3 print than any small film camera I've ever tried, so I think what she's saying there may not be true of the current abilities of digital sensors.
I think she means seriously large prints like a medium format camera would produce. For personal projects a Leica is the film weapon of choice; well if you were given one as you first camera wouldn’t you?
