15-30mm filters
I used the Lee Big Stopper and a ND Grad for this picture with the 15-30.
The 15-30 adapter comes with a neat soft lens cap so having mounted the adapter you can put the soft cap on for packing the lens in your camera bag. No fiddling with the adapter when you are out in the field.

Any colour cast ?
There seems to be a few types available, fotodiox pana 66, Lee 150, haida or nisi,
Don't know about hi-tec.
If it is advertised as fitting the Tamron 15-30mm does that mean it will fit the pentax ?
Cheers
Here's their system for the 150mm filters that you need on the 15=30

I don't recall any colour cast.
Yes the Tamron 15-30 and the Pentax 15-30 take the same adapter.

I'm just trying to see what my options are and the cost of filters plus system.

The Lee Filters SW 150 fitting for the Tamron 15-30mm is the one to buy for the Pentax lens, so presumably other makes for the Tamron lens will fit also.
I bought the SW 150 system with the same reasoning as pschlute, but any 150mm filter system takes a lot of space in your bag and I spent a while trying different bags, which need to be at least 190mm deep internally. Also if you leave the mount ring on the lens that increases the space it needs, so limiting what else you can pack. The standard 6 and 10 stop filters have a colour cast which Lee have addressed with their new v. expensive versions but I have managed to rectify it easily in Lightroom by adjusting the white balance; I guess with practice you could do that in camera instead.
Nice shot by the way Peter..
Stuart..
It is BIG, I can just about screw the circular filters on with one hand, but the quality of the filters is good (supposedly manufactured by Schneider). There is virtually no colour cast, far better in this respect than the Hitech filters. There are two versions of the CPL, the MC one is good, but reviews of the cheaper non-MC version suggest that it is not a good choice.
You can also get an adapter that enables you to use the filters on the 24-70mm f2.8.

All seem to have good and bad bits.
The fotodiox is one I had looked at anyway and is a beast just like the lens, I do like it though.
The nisi s5 has a geared wheel to rotate the cpl and can be used with 1 circular filter and 1 sqr or 2 sqr filters stacked.
The kase looks good too.
Hitech formatt firecrest are pretty decent filters but not for this lens.
Thanks for the link Dave, I hadn't seen your post Cheers.

I knew when I got it that I may not keep it as it's a lot of money tied up in one lens.
I might have to look at selling it on and try and find a 20-35mm to replace it along with a decent filter system as that's something I'd love to try out.
I havn't yet moved up to the 15-30 yet Mainly because of the cost of yet another filter system. So I'm stuck with the 24-70 at present. But I'm currently using glass filters from a company called Kase. Again not cheap. But I can highly recommend them. No colour residue and don't smash if you drop them..
