I took this shot earlier on this evening with my K20D after much trial and error. I used my DA*300 with a ISO of 400 at F22 at 1/125...and a tripod of course! I cropped the image in Photoshop and made some adjustments as I used the RAW format.
I know it's not the sharpest picture in the world but I was fairly pleased with it

As I've mentioned before I'm off to Iceland in a couple of weeks and I want to take some polarising filters with me. I was looking at the Hoya Pro 1 Digital range but they look a bit pricey, I notice Kenko also do these filters as well. Has anyone used Kenko before and are they any good in comparison?

Thanks

Rob

Can anyone help me with this please??

I've had this software on my PC for a couple of months but now can't view the JPEG files when I double click on the image using the photosnap viewer, even though I change the setting to "Open With" the photosnap viewer program. All the other functions of Nero, lightscribe, etc work okay. A few weeks ago I deleted some images, could I have inadvertently deleted a program off the software or the PC that would enable this to work?

It was a brand new version of Nero, any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated either as a post or a PM.

Cheers

Rob

This was taken the other day with the 17-70 SDM. It was taken with AF and I used the centre AF point but doesn't look quite sharp to me. Does this image show any signs of the lens being faulty?

Cheers

I agree with most of the posts about the lack of service at Jessops. Last week I went to Tottenham Court Rd and popped into Jacobs for a remote control for my K20. The assistant had a look in the Pentax/Samsung drawer but they didn't have any so I went over to the Jessops World Camera Centre(?), asked the assistant for a remote control, what did he do? He picked up the christmas brochure, didn't open it but said "We only sell Canon and Nikon."
I'm sticking to the smaller retailers from now on with staff who know what they are talking about.

I've been reading this thread and I'm looking to get some SDHC cards, but can't decide between the Sandisk Extreme 3 or the Lexar Pro range, as most of the time I'll be using them for action shots. Having looked at the spec they both seem to be the same speed. Any suggestions as to which brand I should go for as at the moment I have a mixture of cards but want to stick to one brand if possible.

I've just started to use the D-Range as in the recent review in Amateur Photographer on the K20 they suggested that those of us using JPEG shoooting at ISO 400 and below may benefit from it being left on, no mention of RAW at all.
So I use it based on the advice above and can't say that I notice any noticeable difference, not yet anyway. I tend to use lower shutter speeds for action shots to show movement.
If you're interested the review was in the 27th September issue if you can still get a back issue.
Hope this helps,
Rob

Regarding on-line photobooks can anyone tell me if I have to change the resolution of the images before sending the images off?
I know how to do all the resizing but don't know if it's done by the company when they produce the book.
Regards
Rob

I've had a go at cropping this image and made some small changes using Silkypix. I had the ISO set at 400 and then looked at the camera setting for noise reduction afterwards and I had it set on "Weak" ...any ideas as to how to make this any sharper are welcome.
In future I'll have the noise reduction set at "Strong".

They are the Patrouille De France and were supposed to open the show but didn't due to the weather. So they flew in from Cambridge airport and treated us to 2 flypasts...then went back home. Bit disappointing really, I know they couldn't do the full display but thought perhaps they could have done a few more flypasts.
