Well I treated myself and bought one last Friday and it arrived the next day from SRS

I used it on Sunday at a family party and the images were in the main very impressive and I was very plesed with the results. However I have just sent it back because at various settings the focus is all over the place, for example I focused on a group of people sitting at a dining table and they are all out of focus but the area behind them is very sharp which is not what I wanted!

I was going to live with it but for what I paid for the lens and the fact that this lens has history with quality issues I thought the newer versions would have these problems sorted out by now so I'm now waiting for the next one to see if that is any better, hopefully it will be

I've had this lens since January and have used it a fair bit and it was my main lens during August on the family holiday. However I have noticed loads of lens creep which hasn't affected the images but is something that I am a bit concerned about, of course there is a switch for this to lock the lens during transport.

Has anyone else got one of these and do you have the same problem? It's the sort of thing I would expect to occur after very frequent use i.e wear and tear and been used on a daily basis and not within the first 12 months.

The images have been very good though, I did consider the Tamron version but went with this one mainly for the ED spec of the lens.

My advice is be wary of the Bigma. I bought one at the start of the year also for use at airshows and sold it even before the airshow season began - Tooks in fact bought it from me.
There are comments on other forums from users who say that you can hand hold this lens, well perhaps you can but I couldn't see me using it for a whole day's photography at the Air Tattoo, a monopod would be a very useful addition to go with this lens.

I'm thinking of getting this lens but can anyone tell me if the image quality issues have been sorted out yet or will I have to get the lens first and see if it is a bad copy?

I've been offered the chance to buy a used Samsung GX20 and would use it as my second body if I were to purchase it. Apart from the differences in the menu set-up and layout of the buttons, etc what other differences if any are there in comparison to the K20? Has anyone on here got one? What do you think of it?
I've got a couple of SDM lenses and have read they will work but will the battery grip for the K20 work on the Samsung?

I've put a deposit down on the 60-250 with SRS and it was expected in November but the website says now expected in January. I'm in no rush for it as long as I get it by the end of May for the start of the airshow season

Sorry didn't realise I was going to start a debate about all this...if I was in my job in the 80's I'd have had to arrest all you protesters

Been on the forum a while but perhaps should have filled this in first

I've been interested in photography since my parents bought me my first SLR, a P30T for my 21st birthday all those years ago. I now own a K20D and several lenses and my specialist subject is airshow photography, it was my Dad who sadly passed away in February who gave me the bug. My first airshow outing with a camera was the International Air Tattoo at Greenham Common somewhere in the 70's with a picture of the SR-71 in the static park...well the top half anyway and now it doesn't feel right if I'm at an airshow with no camera round my neck.

When there's no airshows then I like to take landscape photos and portraits, I came onto the forum to share my pictures and also to get advice from fellow Pentaxians.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago and have only used it twice so it is in very good condition. It's smaller than expected hence the reason for the sale.

£15 including P&P. **NOW SOLD**

The item will include the battery supplied and original box.

First come first served, if you are interested then PM me and I'll give further details. Payment by either cheque or paypal.

Thanks

I notice in this week's AP that Tamron are bringing out a 10-24mm, no doubt competing against the Sigma 10-20mm. I wonder how the Tamron will compare? I recently bought a s/h Sigma on ebay for my trip to Iceland next week, it had only been used a couple of times, bought it for under £280 so I was well pleased but will keep an eye on the Tamron though.
