Thanks for your comments.
Looking at #1 and #2 we did have some blue stuff during the day. Thankfully I had the monopod to help keep me steady, the crosswinds were a real problem so much so that there should have been 4 Spitfires but it was too windy for the other 2. Would have been nice to see the BBMF as well but couldn't get out of RAF Coningsby for the same reasons

I wasn't relying on the FPS speed solely on Sunday and used it only when required, the rest of the time I tried to get the right picture at the time of capture which may have given me the edge over the Canikony users
A friend of mine is looking at buying his first DSLR and despite my best efforts to promote the Pentax brand he has his mind set on a Canon 500D...

I bet no Nikon or Canon user got that shot
The swastika's on the canopy are not very PC though
It's a North American P51D Mustang, but I guess you know that.

Here is an example of my DA*300 in use in the pouring rain, this was the last image of the day and the quality isn't brilliant due to rain on the glass but acceptable I think.

It could have well been something like that as I was using a Giottos monopod for most of the day and I saw one of the Canon crowd mouth to his mate something about the bloke with a monopod then his mate after a few second delay as if to not be looking at me deliberately turn round and muttered something else...probably wanted my K20D?
Rob, bit off the subject (sorry) but were you using your 60-250 at Duxford? How did it do, love to see some pictures
Greytop, if you have a look at the photos thread the Gnats and the B17 were taken with the 60-250mm, there are more of course which I might put on later if there is more requests All in all I was very pleased with the IQ of this lens and I would say the quality was almost as good as my DA*300mm.
I won't be looking to get a K7 just yet, maybe if airshow photography was my living but when Chris has one I might just have a look at it anyway and have a play with it.

The chap that owns the P40 is based at North Weald airfield not far from where I live and he owns 3 other warbirds. He flew that at the Shuttleworth Collection Spring Air Show later on the same day which I was at as well and came back with another load of images
