Funny, I was asked to do pictures at a gathering Saturday, took the MX-

Another person had a Canon Rebel-took 5 shots and filled the card! (Forgot to off-load). Then, autofocus hunting problems. I was shooting the official portrait in the meantime. Heard the finest compliment-"don't worry, his pictures are always good"! Thankk god for editing, eh?

It may last longest in the US as a viable consumer format. Good for me as I'm primarily interested in putting my images on film, and the speed and convenience of C41 for big jobs beats digital anyway (at least as long as we have labs all over the place).

According to the Wilhelm site, Epson ink/paper prints last longer than regular old style photo prints.

I've had this happen in Pentax lenses-and the problem seems to go away, permanently. No real idea, sorry.

Further to Don's questions, are you running a PC or Mac? And have you run any kind of calibration on your screen?

Finally, a print head cleaning may be in order.

Just recently i bought a home printer. generally speaking I ma happy but...
I use photoshop eelemnts 3 and I have found that with the Epson R265 I get a purple cast in dark areas eg on shadows and on landsapes with greens. I use the epson inks as supp;ied with the printer.

Any suggestions how to correct this?

I'd need more information-and maybe a file to see what's what.

I think a lot of the profiles/color space discussion is pointless. What I get off my Epson R2400 looks EXACTLY like my screen, and is considerably better than commercial prints from a local lab, using their scans as well as my own.

Nearly as bad is the obsession with bit-depth and file formats. If you send your files out, they'll almost certainly be converted to 8 bit, sRGB JPEGs before printing-and they'll look the same anyway.

I have 2 B&H late K mount lenses-they aren't spectacular. The 28 isn't bad but the 70-200 I have is very nasty to use.
