Bell & Howell lenses

By a genuine mistake a seller on ebay sold me a Bell & Howell 80-205 lens thinking it was Tamron.

Is this a good lens worth keeping? It only costed me £10.25 but the seller offered all the money back plus the postage that will cost me. Never heard of these lenses before. It looks clean, nice and very solid and came in its own leather round case.

Bell & Howell are a very old optical firm that made lenses for cine and still cameras, plus cine projectors and all sorts of other things. The sort of lens you have though is likely to be from their later period when they branded lenses imported from Japan and sold them at the lower cost end of the market.

Personally I would get my money back, unless the lens is in such fine shape that you want to try it out. But don't expect too much.

Originally I bid for it because the seller described it as Tamron lens with Adaptall2. I was after the adaptor not the lens. However, all it had was the cap of the Adaptall 2. The seller thought that it was a Tamron lens.

I have 2 B&H late K mount lenses-they aren't spectacular. The 28 isn't bad but the 70-200 I have is very nasty to use.
