Rough bunch here!

Kemal, may I suggest you get MUCH closer to your models? Close enough to hear each other whisper-and see what happens.

If I may paraphrase Benjikan, so much of a good picture comes from being in an interesting environment. Put yourself within her space, and I think that will be more exciting.

Betty, do you mean the purple fringing around the flash reflection?

Gwyn, just for clarification (as I limit my internet fora reading to a select few!) was Benjikan banned for announcing a switch to Pentax in violation of some rule, or banned for announcing a switch away from Canon in violation of someone's preference?

I enjoy my photography because I can express myself better thru it than thru wordz.
Motorcycles, on the other hand are a religious experience.

Just hit the throttle a little harder, and the brakes a little later.
You can always buy new underwear, but how often do you get to see Jesus?
(I use him as a braking marker, to cut my lap time on the next pass)
Great lines! Now do it on a Guzzi...

I had a feeling pete's image had been 'worked on'. I quite like the soft focus, informal feel of kemal's images, not quite snaps, not quite portraits. Whether this was intended or not we can only know if kamal tells us.

regarding the 'Art' vs 'Not Art' debate. In a recent magazine (can't remember which one now), there was a student who had dressed up in various outfits and had self portraits taken dressed as male and female characters (is one andy warhol?). Good idea and makes you think. However, the actual photo's were taken by other people, 'under my direction' as the student said. So the student didn't actually take the images, only stage managed the whole thing.

So who is responsible for the framing, focusing, light etc. The student or her/his hairdresser?

if it was a point and shoot, 'just press this button when I say', then this is just a snap of someone in fancy dress and not such a thought provoking concept at all .... isn't it?
I think the concept, lighting etc. are far more important than who pushes the silly button.

The fact that I only watched for about 30 seconds is, I guess, the reason I think these presentations will never take the place that still photos occupy. Even if it were my family, I would likely watch it once or twice then forget about it for years. My favorite prints are on the wall all the time.

I expect the low quality from internet streaming will be solved some day soon, so that isn't an issue.

It all goes to Dwayne's for processing-they may offer a CD.

My scanners work well with Kodachrome.
